I’m going with Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis there were really good guest stars and blended in well with the gang. Marcus Samuelson didn’t have much of a roll. The bit with him and Shaggy was funny though.

This is an interesting round! We have some duds here, but also a few guest stars I would consider underrated.

10. Joey Chestnut - It might be a toss-up between him and George Takei for my least favorite Scooby-Doo guest star, but Joey easily takes that title in this poll. He had almost no role in his episode, and the small role he did play was very underwhelming. Even the announcer had more lines than him lol.

9. Abraham Lincoln - The message the writers were trying to give was admirable, especially as political polarization has gotten so much worse since this episode came out in 2019. However, I don't think it was executed well. I think they could have made it much less surface-level. Something like "we can work together and embrace our differences" or "we should find common ground on the things we do agree on" would have been better than just saying "we must work together" a bunch.

8. Darci Lynn Farmer - She was a decent guest star, but not particularly memorable.

7. Lucy Liu - I don't have a ton to say about her, but I thought she was a decent guest star. The "Scooby Dooby Doo and Lucy Lucy Liu" bit was cute.

6. Gigi Hadid - Gigi had decent chemistry with the gang! I think it was neat they gave her a backstory with she and Velma taking a class together. However, she does get a couple points off for the repeated joke of the angelic voices singing her name, which got old very quickly.

5. Penn and Teller - They both did a good job! I enjoyed the twist at the end.

4. Liza Koshy - I've tried watching a few of Liza's videos and they aren't really for me. However, this episode aired at the perfect time because I had just seen the movie Work It (which she stars in) ahead of this episode coming out, and I loved her in it. I wish I could rank her higher! Liza did great, but the way she was written brought her down in my rankings. This was one of those early season 2 episodes that was weirdly structured, and I also think they made the viral video subplot way too surface-level. I think it would have been cool to have this as one of the more experimental episodes, where it's written around the gang and her trying to make a video together or something.

3. Bobby Flay, Giada DeLaurentiis and Marcus Samuelsson - It was a lot of fun rewatching Gourmet Ghost last year. I think Bobby and Giada did a great job. Their performance was above the average Guess Who guest star. Marcus didn't have much of a role in this, but I'm not going to lower my ranking just because of that.

2. Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson - I grew up watching Bill Nye videos in school, so this was a really fun episode. It's grown on me a lot since first watch. Bill and Neil have good chemistry together, and I enjoyed the science fact jokes. I thought their episode had a very unique plot as well.

1. Alton Brown - it was actually tough to pick who I was voting for. I debated between him and my #2. I'm ultimately going with Alton both because I love his episode, and I think the way he was written into the episode felt more natural than 90% of the Guess Who guest stars. I liked that he was off doing his own thing, and the gang just ran into him a bunch throughout the episode. I think it works really well, and the spooky tone makes it one of the best episodes of the series.

9. Yeah I wouldn’t mind the blatant “teach a lesson” messaging if it actually had something more to say. Something deeper and more resonant than the surface level like this episode went for. It has the subtlety of an episode of Yogi’s Gang with way too shallow of a message to back it up. There are COUNTLESS moments in this franchise giving the same message far better and saying more without even trying

Gourmet Ghost is super close to my top 15 too! It was #16 in my last ranking. It really went up for me on my last rewatch, I think it is one of the best Scooby movies of the past decade.

It's strange how they did that. I remember one of the writers mentioned in an interview they wanted to keep The Funky Phantom gang a surprise, but not sure why it needed to be kept a secret. If anything I feel it would have created more hype leading up to the episode (although imo the episode obviously wouldn't have met those expectations lol).

I could get behind this mindset if the episode wasn’t such a complete piece of shit lol. Usually, I could get behind something much more memorable and ridiculous like that being better than the sea of beige blandness, but in this case, I hate this episode so much that I view it as one of the absolute worst episodes of the franchise

Disappointing results in last round imo. I loved the idea but the execution and episode in general were pretty awful imo. Wish it would have been Don instead even if he wasn’t my personal choice

As for this poll, I haven’t seen Gourmet Ghost, so while I am tempted to choose them anyway, I guess I am stuck with the Guess Who options. I’ll choose Bill Nye and Neil Degrasse Tyson, pretty much just a random selection

It’ll be the gourmet ghost gang for me here! I think they all really elevate the movie and that their personalities really do match that of the gang very well. The movies itself is so funny and I think they do great comedic stuff in it!
