Thanks to Shadowscooby for suggesting the idea for this week's poll! Looking at last week's results, "Doo Not Disturb" is our winner!

What is your favorite dark episode of a traditionally comedy-focused Scooby-Doo series?
Doo Not Disturb - 23

Typically, I've posted an article during the first week of each month. Just wanted to give a heads up that there won't be an article this week. I'm purposefully holding this month's article back to later in the month, for a reason that will become apparent once the article is posted lol.

7. Jeff Dunham and Darci Lynn Farmer - "Too Many Dummies" is one of the best Guess Who episodes imo. It's one of the few that executes a dark tone really well, and Carl the dummy is also one of the creepiest villains of the show. However, Jeff and Darci have virtually no chemistry here, which earns them the bottom spot.

6. Penn and Teller - Good guest stars, although they aren't particularly memorable to me.

5. Bill Nye and Neil DeGrasse Tyson - I didn't like Neil on my first watch, but when I did a rewatch recently, the episode grew on me. I think Bill and Neil have great chemistry. I think Neil's chemistry with the gang could have been stronger, though.

4. The Three Stooges - Giving this one the edge for the nostalgia. They also seem mostly disconnected from the gang in both of their episodes, but I do have a soft spot for the weirdness of "Ghastly Ghost Town" lol.

3. Laurel and Hardy - Excellent guest stars! I think they work really well within the context of the episode, and with the gang's dynamic.

2. Sonny and Cher - This was a tough choice. Both remaining options are iconic imo. Sonny and Cher stand out as some of the best guest stars in the franchise; they're very charismatic and have great chemistry together and with the gang.

1. Batman and Robin - Giving the edge to Gentlemanly Batman here lol. This version of Batman is my all-time favorite. He and Robin works so well here, and even being more in Batman's world in "The Caped Crusader Caper" is still executed in a way that's a great fit with the franchise.

Extremely predictable answer, but I'll go with Batman and Robin.

I figured Doo Not Disturb would win last weeks poll. That fact that it ended of a cliffhanger makes it even more darker than any other dark episodes from a comedic series.

Batman & Robin, i feel like they're winning this poll but i'd be surprised if like Jeff Dunham and Darci Lynn Farmer won somehow lol

Agreed, I'm pretty sure it will be Batman and Robin, but could also see Sonny and Cher pulling it off.

7. Jeff Dunham and Darci Lynn Farmer- I won’t bury the lede here: Yes, the bottom three will all be the Guess Who guest stars here obviously. But, I mostly find these guest stars forgettable more than anything. Maybe it is because I am obviously not a Guess Who fan, but it took me a few seconds to remember who these people even were. So clearly their performances didn’t leave much of an impression on me

6. Penn and Teller- Well for the rest of these, I at least knew who they were immediately so that is progress I guess. Penn and Teller were fine I guess but not very memorable in their episode

Bill Nye and Neil DeGrasse Tyson- Their performances were a bit more memorable to me than Penn and Teller and a lot more memorable than the ventriloquists for me, but it doesn’t really stand out to me much either. To be fair, most Guess Who guest stars are the same way for me. I don’t think the series does a good job writing the guest stars into the episodes

4. The Three Stooges- And with the Stooges, we have what I think are the weakest of any New Scooby Doo Movies guest stars above all of the Guess Who options. The Three Stooges really lack the warmth that many TNSDM guest stars have with the gang, but are still written much better than the Guess Who ones.

3. Laurel and Hardy- Huge jump here as the top three are among the greatest guest stars in franchise history. I’ll go Laurel and Hardy in third, but I do really love their dynamic with the gang

2. Sonny and Cher- Tough choice here, but Sonny and Cher come in second. The Secret of Shark Island is one of the best episodes ever made, and Sonny and Cher play a large part in that. The writers nailed their dynamic and it translated perfectly in their dynamic with the gang as well

1. Batman and Robin- Gentlemanly Batman and Robin get the win here for me. Both of their episodes are excellent. I certainly prefer The Dynamic Scooby Doo Affair, but I feel like part of the greatness is that episode feeling more like a Scooby episode and The Caped Crusader Caper feeling more like a Batman adventure episode. And Batman and Robin as well as their dynamic with the gang are exceptional in both. I also like how, similar to the Globetrotters, there seems to naturally be more familiarity with between the gang and Batman and Robin in the second episode, which is a detail that I don’t overlook

7. Even having rewatched this back in March, I still don't remember what either of them did beyond controlling puppets, which should definitely say something about how memorable these two were imo lol.

1. I really like that too, it's odd how they don't do it with Don Knotts. I'd be curious to know the creative mindset behind having him technically play a character rather than himself in "Guess Who's Knott Coming to Dinner."

I know I’m super late to this poll but I went with the three stooges. You can’t go wrong with them. They were really funny and we’re also the first ever guest stars of Scooby Doo.
