We're circling back for our last poll before the final round for this recurring characters poll series! This week's poll will determine who gets the remaining spot in next week's final round. There are a number of guest stars from The New Scooby-Doo Movies and Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? who appear more than once. I included Mark Hamill in this group, because he voices Corey in "Mystery in Persia" before appearing as himself as "The Sword, The Fox, and the Scooby-Doo!".

Last week marked the end of our four weeks of Laff a Lympics polls. Checking back in on our announcers poll from last week, Snagglepuss wins the round with ease! He advances to the final round next week.

Who is your favorite Laff-a-Lympics announcer?
Snagglepuss - 20
Mildew - 10
Voiceover Guy - 5
Fred Flintstone - 5
Jabberjaw - 3
Barney Rubble - 0

7. Mark Hamill - His Guess Who episode is one of the better episodes, but I don't really have a soft spot for either of his roles like I do the others.

6. The Three Stooges - They're maybe a tad ill-fitting for Scooby, but I like their episodes well enough.

5. Cher - She's absolutely iconic with Sonny in "The Secret of Shark Island." That episode has grown to become one of my favorites from The New Scooby-Doo Movies. I also loved her Guess Who episode on first watch, but it kinda soured on me when I recently rewatched the series.

4. Sandy Duncan - She was a really good guest star! I found her really charismatic in both the original episode and the Guess Who sequel. Her personality fits really well with the gang.

3. Batman and Robin - Oof, this is where it gets hard. Any of these would probably be #1 in another poll. I have such a soft spot for Gentlemanly Batman so it hurts to rank him third. There's no doubt in my mind that the world would be a much better place if we all lived like Gentlemanly Batman lol.

2. Don Knotts - For once, voting him in first place was Knott the option I chose lol. Don is a legendary guest star and I love both of his episodes, but there's one option that comes out just barely ahead...

1. The Harlem Globetrotters - The Globetrotters are franchise icons when it comes to guest stars. They were always my faves as a kid. Meadowlark and Curly have better chemistry with Shaggy and Scooby than any other guest star imo. Their episodes are amongst my favorite in the franchise, so I have to go with them here.

i feel like Batman & Robin will win

but to be honest my vote goes to the Harlem Globetrotters i think those episodes are just a bit more iconic and amazing plus i think they honestly balanced both groups perfectly

Gentlemanly Batman is sure to win with the excellent campaign he's running against counterfeiting, lol.

7. Mark Hamill- I like Mark Hamill and I really like his voice acting roles in the franchise such as Babyface Boretti and Steve from Alien Invaders, but frankly, anyone with pretty much just Guess Who on their resume is going to automatically rank below the classic guest stars for me, even if I do like Night of the Living Doo but he is barely in that

6. The Three Stooges- For the rest of these, I am pretty much judging solely on their appearance in The New Scooby Doo Movies because my judgment on their Guess Who appearances are indifference and that is being generous. While I considered placing them above the next two guest stars because the Stooges at least have two episodes in The New Scooby Doo Movies, the Stooges were always among my meast favorite guest stars in the series. Most of the guest stars in the series have a warmth to their interactions with the gang, and the Stooges, due to their slapstick nature as characters, don’t. I don’t mind the stooges but it makes them an odd fit for Scooby imo.

5. Sandy Duncan- Sandy Duncan’s Jekyll and Hyde is certainly a classic, though I don’t necessarily think she is one of my absolute favorites classic guest stars either, but she is still very good

4. Cher- The Secret of Shark Island is one of the best episodes ever made, and Cher (along with Sonny) is phenomenal in the episode. She is absolutely hilarious in the episode and they really nailed her dynamic with Sonny

3. Don Knotts- How could I KNOTT put him top 3??? I do prefer the top two as guest stars and prefer their episodes, but that does KNOTT mean that Don Knotts isn’t a phenomenal guest star

2. Batman and Robin- Really tough choice between the top two here, but unfortunately, Gentlemanly Batman and Robin come up just short. We make jokes about Gentlemanly Batman, but this is the version of Batman that really works better in this series specifically than a more serious Batman would

1. Harlem Globetrotters- Probably the greatest guest stars in the history of the franchise. I particularly like the grouping of Scooby, Shaggy, Meadowlark, and Curly running around the house in The Loch Ness Mess

I am on board, maybe that could have been a better segment than the Yabba shorts in that series lol

6. I completely agree with your analysis here about why the Stooges feel so ill-fitting with the gang. *Moe voice* Wise guy, eh?

1. I'd also consider The Globetrotters the best guest stars in the history of the franchise! They have a charisma to them that fits perfectly with the gang, almost like they are unofficial members.

@ZoinksDude That would be an epic idea for a spin-off! I would have loved something like that.

1. Yeah, they fit in in a way that is hard for most guest stars to even compare. Maybe Jonathan Winters comes close in my opinion, but even then, that is comparing one episode to three

Harlem Globbtrotters of course

Not the common pick but I'll actually go with Don Knotts on this one due to how funny his interactions with the gang are. I've always loved the unique rapport he has. Such a memorable distinct personality.

Completely agreed he has one of the most unique relationships with the gang of any guest star in the franchise. The quirky roles he plays really make his episodes stand out as some of the best of the series, imo.

I have another series poll ideas for you relating to guest stars. You can do what’s your favorite guest stars based on category: actors, singers/muscians, athletes, fictional characters, guest star duo.

Thank you, this is a really cool idea! I have a few poll ideas planned after this poll series, but this would be super fun to do as a poll series after those.

Your welcome I just realized that I didn’t put comedians how can I for get that?

Thanks for that! If I do it as a poll series, I might add on a miscellaneous category as well for all the guest stars that don't fit into a category. The duos poll also might have to be done separately from the poll series, since there would be some overlap with other categories (i.e. Laurel and Hardy would also both qualify for the comedians poll).

That's amazing that another scene was found! I heard last week that there was a group of fans creating a project to look for the missing scenes. I hope this means we'll find more of the footage soon!

It was posted on reddit, which is where I came across it. Regarding the people involved in the project, here's this comment:

Also found this playlist that keeps track of the lost scenes, which helps for quick checking:

Great find on that Reddit thread! Good to have extra content on how the scene was found. I saw they mentioned they're expecting to receive a few more soon, which is awesome! Can't wait to see the other scenes.

I actually found that same playlist earlier this morning! Very helpful to have. Glad they're putting in such a strong effort to find these scenes. Clearly it's paying off given they found one of the scenes so quickly.

I hope we get to see the cut King Kong scene in Sandy Duncan's Jekyll and Hyde, cuz it must have existed.

I think this new fan project will greatly increase our odds of finding all of the missing scenes eventually. I would not at all be surprised if another scene was found within the next few months.

The globetrotters are winners for me! I just think the way such a large cast is able to combine with the gang and work so well is rare and they manage to do it perfectly. Plus the episodes themselves are some of my favourites!

Completely agreed, it's actually pretty amazing they're the strongest guest stars in the franchise (imo) with such a huge group!
