This is an amazing roster. All of the first 10 choices are damn good to legendary. But ultimately, the one that's most legendary is A Clue for Scooby-Doo and my pick for this poll; all-timer episode.

Completely agreed that this is an amazingly strong set. It was really hard choosing between my top 10 because all of them are such classic episodes.

14. Blowout Beach Bash - this was an easy last place considering it's my least favorite DTV.

13. The Phantom, The Talking Dog, and the Hot Hot Hot Sauce! - I like Kacey Musgraves a lot as a singer, but I didn't really like her as a guest star here. She seemed kinda checked out and not invested in the role imo.

12. Mystery Map - puppets don't bother me like I know they do a lot of people, and I thought this was an interesting re-imagining of Pup. The captain wasn't the best villain here, but I did like the atmosphere.

11. The Curse of Half-Beard's Booty - I rewatched this earlier as I didn't remember it well, but I thought this was actually really good for a short. It was cool that they brought the plotline of Captain Cutler back, and had him help the gang to clear his name.

10. Ghost Who's Coming to Dinner - As Becker said, the top 10 is in a whole different league than the rest of these. My main reason for putting this at #10 is that I don't feel Boobeard really comes to mind specifically as a captain, but this is an excellent episode and one of my favorites of Pup.

9. The Haunted Showboat - IMO this episode had a very creepy and foreboding tone that I don't think any other New Scooby-Doo Movies episode managed to capture.

8. The Ghostly Creep from the Deep - gotta love Frugal Redbeard! lol

7. Ship of Ghouls - this is getting insanely hard to choose. Really love the twist at the end of this episode.

6. Pirates Ahoy - amazing film. I wish we would get cinematic-feeling DTVs like this again.

5. The Creepy Heap from the Deep - Captain Clemens getting his soul stolen was terrifying! One of the best season 2 episodes.

4. Scooby-Doo, Where's the Crew? - another one with an amazing atmosphere. The gang being stranded out in the middle of the ocean with the captain's ghost and the sea monsters was really creepy.

3. Go Away Ghost Ship - An all-time classic! Love the atmosphere of the ship.

2. A Clue for Scooby-Doo - Another all-time classic that would have won if it weren't up against one of my favorite episodes of the franchise, which is...

1. Guess Who's Knott Coming to Dinner - How could I Knott vote for this one? haha In seriousness though, this episode feels like the perfect textbook example of a Scooby-Doo haunted house. Don Knotts was awesome as a guest star and I love the twists and turns of the mystery towards the end, too. Really fun episode.

I could honestly understand pretty much any ranking of those first 10 choices, they're all great. As long as the other 4 are at the bottom it's all good lol.

14. Ship of Ghouls - Makes absolutely no sense. A total shambles that retcons practically everything 13 Ghosts had already established.
13. Some Guess Who Episode, who cares.
12. Beach Bash - Burn it, Burn it with every last canister of petrol you can find yet somehow not last place.
11. Ghost Who's Coming to Dinner - Probably my least favourite episode of pup and somehow not last place. Says how low I rank the previous 3.
10. Curse of Half Beard's Booty - Yeah, yet somehow avoids last place due to the dross before it.
9. Guess Who's Knott Coming to Dinner - One of my least favourite New Scooby Doo Episodes, still somehow 9th.
8. The Haunted Showboat - Casual racism and a load of teenagers,what's not to love?
7. Ghostly Creep from the deep - When you blow the budget on the guest stars.
6. Mystery Map - PUPPETS!!!!!!!!
5. Clue for Scooby Doo - Classic and this is where it gets difficult.
4. Go Away Ghost Ship - Extra point for the Ghost sword.
3. Pirates Ahoy - Excellent.
2. Creepy heap from deep - Terrifying.
1. Where's the crew - Like above except this time there is no escape as you're stranded in the middle of the ocean.

"Ship of Ghouls" honestly never bothered me because that whole series was kind of a mess in terms of continuity. Several episodes ("That's Monstertainment," "It's a Wonderful Scoob" and "Horror Scope Scoob") all have the ghost's plan hinge on opening the Chest of Demons, which contradicts the entire plot of the series premiere, where the whole point of Scooby getting tricked into opening the chest was because ghosts can't open it. I consider those first two and "Ship of Ghouls" to be great episodes otherwise, so the continuity issue doesn't bother me considering the whole series was riddled with contradictions like that.

Great list overall, things get heated inside the top 10 of this one, but first we have to go through the obvious 4 here lol

14. ... Hot, Hot Sauce: Probably one of the more disappointing episodes of this series because I like the setting and guest star selection, but it falls flat in typical Guess Who fashion. Go figure

13. Blowout Beach Bash: Honestly, I could probably just not even count this and it wouldn't make a big difference in my list. That says a lot

12. The Curse of Half Beard's Booty- I am not a fan of this episode personally. I guess it is better than the other Be Cool short paired with it, but that's not saying much

11. Mystery Map- I've talked about how I wish it weren't puppets before, but meh

10. Scooby Doo Where's the Crew- Okay so this is where it gets tough. I appreciate the class Scooby Doo Show season 1 elements in this episode, but this one just seems to be missing something extra to push it over the top for me. Unpopular opinion, but a weaker one in that season for me, but I'd certainly take it. Good episode overall

9. Ghost Who's Coming to Dinner- Really fun A Pup Named Scooby Doo episode. Not one of my very favorites from that series but a very good one.

8. Pirates Ahoy- It's funny because for me, this one can get lost in the mix in terms of talking about Scooby movies overall, especially in the What's New era, but I would also gladly take this over about anything in the last decade of Scooby movies. A great movie from an overlooked era in Scooby movies

7. Ship of Ghouls- Before we get to the ultimate classics, this is one of my favorite 13 Ghosts episodes. I love the ship here and the twist

6. Creepy Heap From the Deep- Was unsure which of my top 6 I wanted to be out of the top 5. I chose this one because the main villain I remember isn't the captain, but the Captain is still great and this episode is excellent

5. Ghostly Creep From the Deep- I still stan Ghostly Redbeard and his projector crew. This episode, like I mentioned with Wedding Bell Boos last week, has become an episode I go to just for a ton of fun and a light time. It is very silly, and honestly, that vibe works for me

4. Guess Who's Knott Coming to Dinner- I absolutely love the design of Captain Moody's ghost. I've always said I wish this episode were longer so the mystery proper had more time to develop and I absolutely still mean it.

3. The Haunted Showboat- This is a favorite of mine. I would even go as far as to say one of the most underrated episodes of this series, and maybe Scooby in general. There is a creepy atmosphere that you don't see often in this specific series, while also just being a lot of fun. It manages having a large amount of characters really well with how they mix the two gangs together. Great episode

2. Go Away Ghost Ship- These top two were so CLOSE. They are right near each other in my rankings, and they are both absolute CLASSIC episodes with arguably even more CLASSIC villains. I have this one just a tad lower than my number one, but these are both some of the most iconic and classic episodes this franchise has

1. A Clue For Scooby Doo- It is the basic choice here, but the right one imo. For as much as Go Away Ghost Ship comes close, it has to be A Clue For Scooby Doo here. For as good as What a Night For a Knight (and Hassle in the Castle, I'm still unsure of the episode order thing lol) is, this is the true breakout episode of the Franchise imo and was a complete game changer in terms of mystery storytelling and having a much less straightforward solution

It's funny how the bottom 4 (by a really large margin) are all the ones that came out since 2010. Even a great show like BCSD didn't stick the landing with it. Strange, considering the rest of the list is awesome

Even though I ranked it lower, I also have never gotten why puppets scare people. I thought they did a good job with the puppets in Mystery Map personally.

@Becker- While obviously there is great stuff in the 2010s, it doesn't surprise me. I hesitate to call the 2010s bad because of stuff like SDMI, Be Cool, and some movies like Camp Scare, but it is overall a weaker decade

@Mr Neither- Like Becker, the puppets just make me kinda cringe tbh

It's interesting, Becker's comment made me think about if a Be Cool episode could have made my top 10 in this set if it were a stronger episode, and surprisingly I don't think it would have. Be Cool is an amazingly written series, but I'm not sure it quite reaches the classic status of any of my top 10 in this set.

Also, that's fair about finding puppets cringey. The most common explanation I'd heard for people disliking the puppets is that they found them creepy, which I don't personally feel, but I get that puppet productions are kind of an acquired taste.

Personally, I think that a Be Cool episode could get in, but it wouldn’t be easy. It would need to be at the very least a decently above average episode the series, maybe even better than that, but if one of the very best Be Cool episodes had a Captain as a ghost (like an episode at the level of In Space, Party Like It’s 1899, Some Fred Time, or my personal favorite, How To Train Your Cowards), I think that would definitely be in the top ten for me

@Matt, yeah, I would agree with that. I think Be Cool is a good enough series to reach classic status with its better episodes.

@Mr Neither Although I'll defend the puppets in Mystery Map, I definitely wouldn't like to see that in Velma lol. I can only imagine how awful that would be.

8. Yeah, I completely agree that this is better than anything from the past decade or so. I've mentioned it before on here, but if they're considering rebooting the current DTVs, I would love for them to pivot back to films like this and the other early What's New films.

6. That's ultimately why I put it a little lower too. It's still a top tier The Scooby-Doo Show episode though and franchise highlight, especially for that first half.

5. Same for me. I wish I could have put it higher, but it just goes to show what an amazing list this was.

3. Completely agreed with everything you said here. I definitely feel it's underrated for the creepy atmosphere and what great chemistry both gangs have.

8. I also would be very satisfied with that. The magic of the Mook era was like catching lightning in a bottle in the first place, but I feel that the What's New era of movies with their cinematic scope are a very achievable target goal for a new era, just hope they have the right people in there to actually do it

6. I wouldn't personally put it in the very top tier of Scooby Doo Show episodes, but it is excellent, like most from the first two seasons are

3. After Guess Who, it really just shows how impressive a lot of these New Scooby Doo Movies episodes were in integrating their guest stars, and it is especially impressive when they have such a large group as the Josie and the Pussycats gang or the Globetrotters

8. Completely agreed, I think it would be hard to recapture that magic, especially with where the franchise is currently at. Shifting back to the What's New style feels like it would be a happy medium that would likely please the majority of people.

3. Yeah, the only guest star from The New Scooby-Doo Movies that I don't feel was well-integrated would be Jeannie and Babu. The rest were amazing.

8. Though, I will say I would LOVE to see the type of supernatural Americana settings that were in Zombie Island, Witch’s Ghost, and Alien Invaders come back and I think that much is doable. The globetrotting settings of the What’s New era are fun, but those three movies gave arguably the three best settings in the entire franchise in my opinion. I realize it wouldn’t be the same today, but I just always felt those Americana settings were very well researched and incorporated into the movies perfectly, and would like to see that aspect come back

3. Yeah, Babu especially. I guess there were at least a few moments at the very beginning of the episode of Jeannie and Shaggy and Scooby having some funny interactions, but beyond that not much. I also don’t feel like the Three Stooges were integrated with the gang as well as they could have been, especially in Ghost of the Red Baron, but I don’t feel like it was bad in that regard or that they were bad guest stars. Really, even then, the Stooges still were integrated better than almost any Guess Who guest star in my opinion

8. Yeah, I totally agree that bringing back the Americana settings would be doable. I think it would work with the tone of the WNSD films, if that's the route they chose to start a new DTV era.

3. While I think I like the Three Stooges episodes more than you (especially "Ghastly Ghost Town"), I do agree that their integration into the gang wasn't the best compared to the rest of the series, especially in "The Ghost of the Red Baron."

This poll has a lot of good options which made it kind of tough. In the end, I went with A Clue For Scooby Doo. Nothing can top the creepy moaning of Captain Cutler.

Since Im from the 2000s generation of Scooby watchers I just cant not go for Pirates Ahoy. That movie is my childhood and one of the best they’ve made. As someone else said, it just feels sooo cinematic, the music, the settings, the high stakes. Like, I clearly remember the feeling of watching that movie on my small foldable DVD player on flights and roadtrips. I could cry of nostalgia.

I agree the movie feels super nostalgic! I can remember being super excited to buy the DVD back in the day. While I have liked the majority of recent DTVs, I don't feel any of them have been able to capture that same cinematic feel as those 2000s movies, and I'd really love if they'd go back to making Scooby films like that again someday.
