All of the episodes of 13 Ghosts made really good use of their setting other than Coast to Ghost. However, the beginning where the guy is delivering Vincent's takeout makes good use of setting, I must say!

Agreed! Even though there was a lot of settings in "Horror Scope Scoob," I thought they were all really good!

Admittedly, this one is TOUGH. It has been forever since I’ve seen this series, and I will try and skim through some pictures to refresh myself before making a decision later today

Completely agreed, this series did an amazing job with settings! I will have to think a little bit more about my tiers as well before ranking them. I did pick what I'm voting for though, and it's "That's Monstertainment!" The castle in the old movie is a great setting that felt very sinister and creepy despite some of the lighthearted antics in the episode.

If we were ranking episodes based on how good they are as episodes, I would have a bad tier but the settings are never a problem and always a plus in this series.

The only.episodes I consider bad are When You Witch Upon a Star and Coast to Ghost. I like To All the Ghouls I've Loved Before but at the same time it seems pointless and throwaway. Didn't the opening credits already tell us this? Also, Shaggy and Scooby WILLINGLY opening a chest with spider webs and a skull on it, seems way too far fetched no matter what the circumstances are. 4/16/2023 01:59:44 pm
Same for me, although I like "To All the Ghouls I've Loved Before." My big issue with "Coast to Coast" is that Rankor willingly climbs the Chest of Demons which makes no sense. He would know what the Demon Chest looks like if he'd been trapped in there for centuries, and would not be stupid enough to go in it again.

Just like in Ship of Ghouls, which is my 2nd favorite in this series after Horror Scope btw, they say the chest can open on its own just because they are in the Bermuda Triangle. What?! What if Shaggy was to eat his sweet potato pie and clang his fork three times against his plate. 4/16/2023 03:15:50 pm
Lol I get what you mean, they did tend to come up with very arbitrary reasons for raising the stakes. It felt like pretty much every episode, it was a solstice or they were in a certain place that would cause the Demon Chest to open. The townspeople may need to build a stronger chest if there are so frequently instances where the chest is weakened or in danger of not being able to hold the ghosts inside haha.

Ridiculously tough, could have gone for several but decided on Kwackyland. Time Slime probably a close second.

Although I don't love "Scooby in Kwackyland" as an episode, I agree it's one of the most creative settings. I think "It's a Wonderful Scoob" will probably be a bit lower when I do my settings. It was good, but not as good as some others in this series IMO.

I'm always a bit of a sucker for what if... scenarios.

Here are my rankings. I didn't find any of them to be "meh" or "bad" in this series; they all had their own charm for me, but a couple were a bit lower than others.

I would say mine are probably similar after thinking about it

Our lists are really similar again! "When You Witch Upon a Star," despite being not the greatest episodes, I thought was really incredible setting wise. All of the settings (except maybe Paris and wherever the cobra was) felt super dark and sinister, even Vincent's house was pretty creepy despite there being no danger there. "Scooby in Kwackyland" was close to excellent for me but not quite. It may have been influenced by the fact that I don't think it was the strongest episode, although it has been growing on me slowly over the years.

Yeah overall, an unexpected contender for one of the best series for settings, they kinda killed it. If the worst here is just okay for me, then something was done right 4/17/2023 11:52:26 am
I was very close to voting "The Ghouliest Show on Earth" but ended up going with "That's Monstertainment!" instead for perfectly creating an sinister environment with room for a little silliness. I completely agree that the circus has an eerie and disturbing feel to it. Ironically, "The Ghouliest Show on Earth" was one of the first episodes of the show I ever saw too! They were airing reruns of it on Boomerang when I was a kid, and I saw "Me and My Shadow Demon" first followed by this episode.

This one is tough decision. All episodes have good settings. I’m going with Me and My Shadow Demon.

That was one of my favorites too! I thought Befuddle Manor was a great setting!

gonna have to give this one to The Ghouliest Show On Earth because that one made REALLY good use of the secretly evil circus setting. and also Ship Of Ghouls is second for me with its ghost ship setting.

I love "The Ghouliest Show on Earth'" too and considered voting for it! The secret reveal of the circus being pure evil mid-way through the episode is epic. It's a shame this show was so stacked with so many great settings, because I would say that circus is one of the best settings in any Scrappy episode.

In my opinion I think episodes 8 & 9 of 13 Ghosts could use some better titles.
