Merry Christmas and happy holidays! This past Tuesday, I made my annual Year in Review post listing my favorite things that happened in the franchise, but now I want to give you all a chance to vote for your favorite thing that happened this year! The results will be posted on New Year's Day in 2023. Scooby-Doo and the Loch Ness Monster won our Loch Ness Monster poll last week with 46 votes! It won by a huge margin, as the next closest episodes had 14 votes, less than 1/3 of the votes that movie got. "A Highland Fling with a Monstrous Thing" is the episode I'm referring to that came in second. Surprisingly, "The Loch Ness Mess" came in last with 12 votes.

The Mystery Incorporated fan series surprised me too! It far exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to see episode 2.

They’ve been radio silent about Episode 2 and it’s been very frustrating. But I loved the first episode 12/26/2022 08:38:51 am
I think all they've said is they ran into difficulties funding it. I don't know if you saw it, but they did post the first couple pages of the script for episode 2 on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/@MysteryIncorporated/community (It's the third post down)

Says a lot when the only really noteworthy thing was a fan series.

A belated one to you to, hope it was a good one. 12/25/2022 05:43:00 pm
I liked Trick or Treat, but otherwise, I agree with you that this year was pretty underwhelming for Scooby. Especially so when you compare it to last year, where we got two DTVs, the last 11 episodes of Guess Who, and the Where Are You Now special. I know you aren’t excited for it, but at least we’re starting the year off with Velma and getting some new content.

I'll wait for a total verdict upon its release but right now yeah, my feelings are I'd rather nothing than Velma, which in a nutshell is everything that is wrong with modern television and looks like yet another show that is more focused on pandering inclusiveness and using well known characters rather than originals to ensure views, than actual story telling. But hey, I'll give a watch and be the first to admit I'm wrong if I am. 12/29/2022 08:34:00 am
Fair enough, I thought the comedy style of the teaser looked good but who knows, I could also be wrong.

Merry Christmas! Although Trick or Treat won by default for me too, I really enjoyed the film and would still put it in my top 15 Scooby-Doo movies of the franchise. The plot was quite interesting and different, and it was nice to finally get a break from the crossovers. The wackiness at the end was also fun and reminiscent of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!.

Quite the contrary for me personally. It was an episode I loved as a kid, but now watch Highland Fling and think it is middle of the pack for season 3 at best, and pretty weak for the series as a whole

I've always found "A Highland Fling with a Monstrous Thing" to be mid as well. I haven't seen it in a while, but I should really watch it again sometime to see if my opinion has changed. I remember really liking the castle and campfire in the library scenes.

For me, I've always enjoyed Highland Fling, but I guess I somewhat misremembered how much when ranking it against other season 3 episodes.

For me it’s the dvd season 2 for Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? But this year was a very forgettable year for Scooby-Doo.

Agreed, it’s unfortunate how forgettable this year was considering how much content we got last year. I’m hoping next year will be better, and it seems like it will be since we’re already getting a new series in the first two weeks of the year.

I was really surprised "The Loch Ness Mess" didn't get more votes either. Loch Ness Monster is definitely a great movie, but I wouldn't have expected it to get nearly 3 times the votes of any other option.

Merry Christmas!!! :) I feel like Holiday Haunt probably would have been #1 had it been released. It looked like an amazing film, and I also hope they can find some way to release it someday. I'm very hopeful that 2023 will be a much better year for Scooby!
