I decided not to include every single episode with Vincent's castle from 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, since there are already so many options as it is.

"A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts" won last week's re-do poll for favorite Universal Monster episode, getting 22 votes! "A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle" came in second with 10 votes. Both of the 1988 movies, Ghoul School and Reluctant Werewolf, tied with 8 votes. "Super Scary Movie Night" was fourth with five votes, and "The Ghoul, the Bat and the Ugly" was sixth place with three votes. As for, "Who's Minding the Monster?", the answer to that question is apparently nobody, because that episode came in dead last with zero votes!

I’m going for Hassle in the Castle. The castle in that episode was a very spooky setting.

This feels like one of the most classic castle episodes to me. I haven't thought out my rankings yet but I imagine it will probably be very high on them.

Abracadabra Doo has always been a favorite of mine, but I would say I've grown on it even more lately because I'm writing a fanfic around it.

Alright, let’s do this

I haven’t seen Sword and the Scoob, and I could use a refresher on Giant Problems, Sir Scooby and the Black Knight, Scooby and the Beanstalk, Knight Time Terror, and Me and My Shadow Demon. I probably could rank some of these, but there are enough to rank already so yeah I’ll keep this one at 20

20. Goblin King- Still one of my least favorite Scooby movies. I’m glad that others love it as much as people seem to though

19. Moonlight Madness- Pretty solid list here, so next up is one of the better Scrappy shorts imo. Actually pretty good but, even though it isn’t this episode’s fault, Reluctant Werewolf obviously does the Shaggy werewolf concept way better. More on that later

18. Abracadabra Doo- Decent. Mystery never really engaged me as I found it pretty predictable (which isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker but the mystery wasn’t necessarily interesting to me either), and I feel like beyond that, the main appeal of this movie is the Harry Potter idea put into Scooby, and I’ve never been particularly interested in that franchise either. On top of me never caring for the Madelyn and Shaggy thing, it unfortunately results in a watchable movie that I like less than most. Still though, the castle was well designed enough so a few points for that

17. Scoobra Kadoobra- On the other hand, here is one of the more memorable 13 Ghosts episodes for me. Pretty good

16. A Highland Fling With a Monstrous Thing- Shocked myself by having this lower than at least one episode left, but the more I thought about it, this episode is just not as interesting as like The Loch Ness Mess or The Loch Ness Monster movie

15. Who’s Minding the Monster- On the other hand, here is a very weird episode that has grown on me because of it lol. Shocked I ended up putting this ahead of 16, but the more I thought about it, it became clear

14. Ghoul School- This is only this low because I think of the school itself more than the castle as the setting for this movie

13. Party Like It’s 1899- Now in this case, I completely forgot it even was a castle lol

12. Frankencreepy- One of my favorites of the post-Camp Scare movies. And the castle is cool

11. That’s Monstertainment- I am sad to not have this top ten as it is my favorite 13 Ghosts episode. But this top ten is pretty special imo

10. The Vampire Strikes Back: First off, one if the best pun titles of the franchise. Secondly, this episode was always really interesting, even with the high standards this series has with being interesting

9. Loch Ness Monster- Very good movie. I could make an argument for it to be even higher, but we are talking about a classic setting here with absolute classics like we will see later

8. How To Train Your Coward- I don’t know how popular of an opinion this is, but I think this is one of the very best Be Cool episodes. Top 3 at least. I love the plot, I love the mystery, I absolutely adore the suspects/villains, I love the setting, and I especially love the humor

7. Hassle in the Castle- On the other hand, we have a well regarded classic. Not one of my favorites of the original series by any means, but it is a classic for a reason. And the castle itself is just classic stuff

6. Reluctant Werewolf- Perhaps recency bias since I only rewatched this one recently, but I quite enjoyed the castle here. Very similar vibe to

5. Halloween Hassle at Dracula’s Castle- Just like Reluctant Werewolf- Filling up an old Dracula’s Castle with an eclectic group of monsters makes for s great time

4. Large Dragon At Large- A lot of nostalgia in this one and this castle. It would be 3 if they were at the castle for a little longer

3. Scared A Lot in Camelot- A stone cold classic. A legitimate contender in this, but I decided two came higher

2. A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts- I decided my top two needed to be one Medieval like castle and one Transylvanian monster castle as those seem to be the prevailing types of castles here, and I went with this classic to represent the latter. Sets the bar very high with castles, yet…

1. Haunted Horseman of Hagglethorn Hall- Some may see this as an odd choice, but I am very confident in my pick here. For starters, it has more time to digest in the setting than any of the episodes here (and unlike many of the movies, it pretty much only takes place at the castle). Secondly, I think it is just my favorite of the choices here as an episode/movie. It is one of my favorite episodes of the New Scooby Doo Movies (I would put it 6 behind Loch Ness Mess, Dynamic Scooby Doo Affair, Secret of Shark Island, Ghost of Bigfoot, and Phantom of the Country Music Hall), and it deserves my first place

Oh boy, here we go with 25 rankings! haha

25. Party Like It's 1899 - didn't even remember this was in a castle either until I looked up castle episodes on Scoobypedia in attempt to make sure I didn't forget any lol.

24. Sword and the Scoob - I'd forgotten this was in a castle, so I guess this fits up here too.

23. Scooby and the Beanstalk - I don't feel the castle setting was memorable at all here.

22. Knight Time Terror - another one that is not really memorable in any way for me.

21. Sir Scooby and the Black Knight - I actually find this Scrappy short one of the more entertaining ones, but still doesn't make the top of the list here. Weird that it's just some random guy at the end and we have no explanation for why he was wearing a suit of armor.

20. FrankenCreepy - very cool castle here!

19. Giant Problems - it was cool Daphne had a castle in Scotland. I liked the setting and the giant here.

18. Who's Minding the Monster? - this is a fun episode and I like all the Universal Monsters here. Not particularly memorable for the castle though.

17. Scoobra Kadoobra - great castle! I like that the dungeon had a huge "this way out" sign lol.

16. Moonlight Madness - One of my favorite Scrappy shorts. Great use of the castle but agreed that Reluctant Werewolf does it better.

15. A Highland Fling with a Monstrous Thing - this is a really fun episode. I liked how the episode had two villains.

14. Loch Ness Monster - I'm finding it hard to differentiate some of these castles without just saying "great use of setting!" lol. This was an enjoyable film.

13. That's Monstertainment - loved the use of a classic Frankenstein setting with that castle.

12. Ghoul School - yeah, I agree with you that Grimwood's is by far the more iconic setting, but Revolta's castle is cool.

11. Large Dragon at Large - love the episode itself and the time in the castle, but it's pretty brief and not particularly memorable (as demonstrated by me forgetting to put it in the poll at first lol).

10. Goblin King - I really like the Goblin King's castle here. Very spooky.

9. How to Train Your Coward - it's one of my favorite Be Cool episodes too. The humor is great and the plot of Shaggy and Scooby quitting is so unique and fun. It's surprising they hadn't done the plot before given how scared Shaggy and Scooby are all the time lol.

8. Me and My Shadow Demon - I really liked the castle in this episode. The fact that it was a maze made it feel very dark and spooky, and I thought it significantly contributed to the episode.

7. Abracadabra Doo - I'm probably biased on this one right now because I'm publishing the fanfic about it, but this is one of my favorite Scooby films. I like Madelyn quite a bit as a character, and I also am a Harry Potter fan so I'm sure that factored into my enjoyment of this.

6. The Vampire Strikes Back - excellent use of setting, especially at the end when Shaggy and Scooby have to try to find Fred on the castle's belfry.

5. Scared a Lot in Camelot - classic castle setting and one of the best Scooby-Doo show episodes.

4. Hassle in the Castle - a classic among classics here. Solid setting here.

3. A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts - it's getting really hard to rank these now, but the Transylvanian castle here is incredible! One of the best settings of Where Are You.

2. Reluctant Werewolf - I also just saw this a few weeks ago so perhaps I have a recency bias too, but the setting of Dracula's castle is just so well-done. This castle feels super atmospheric, and I love how much of the film is spent here. It's a great setting that is just a hair above the Where Are You ones for me.

1. A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle - This gets my vote for the second week in a row now. I love how the episode is essentially designed around the setting, where the whole second half is them exploring different rooms of the castle and eventually finding their way to the basement when the ghost of Van Helsing puts them down there. Such an iconic setting.

Oops, you're right! I'd put it at #6.

6. The Haunted Horseman of Hagglethorn Hall - an iconic castle setting that's really well-utilized. I love the scenes with Fred, Shaggy and Scooby running away in the castle halls from the Haunted Horseman in particular.

While Abracadabra Doo wouldn't get my vote, I'd say it wins handedly for best song of a scooby doo thing set in a castle. Including the opening of Zombie Island that had *quietly googles* really...? Apparently Third Eye Blind doing a rendition of the Way theme.

The Haunted Horseman of Hagglethorn Hall:
I liked this episode. Haha Scooby ate the whole chicken. The guys said “you wouldn’t, you couldn’t you shouldn’t and he would, he could, he did.

Davy Jones was a good guest star. He pretend to be the the Haunted Horseman and failed. “Now I know why they call them knights we can see stars” haha. I liked that he made that reference to the band he sang in The Monkees when he said but I never sang for frogs before just monkees.

The Haunted Horseman of Hagglethorne Hall was a pretty spooky villain. He just appears out of nowhere. I liked the Moat Monster as a villain. He was mostly used for comedic bits.

I liked that in this episode we got a chase music scene with Davy Jones singing I Can Make You Happy from SDWAY episode Mystery Mask Mix Up. Anyone else noticed that Davy Jones runs just like Fred?

The Duke of Stratmore and Cyrus Wheatley as the culprits were super obvious. It was interning that they weren’t arrested for their crimes but instead had to help the castle reopen for business by being attractions for tourists.

It was good that they saved the castle and Davey and his uncle don’t have to sell it.

Scooby eating the whole chicken was funny. I liked the Haunted Horseman and Moat Monster as villains! The Moat Monster wasn't particularly spooky though lol.

Davy Jones was a great guest star! He fit really well with the gang. I enjoyed his rendition of "I Can Make You Happy." I hadn't noticed he ran the same way as Fred.

Yeah, the culprits were quite obvious. I thought they got interesting punishments as well.

My Top 10
10) Hagglethorn Hall - Fred was jealous of Davey Jones. Velma's "You're just saying that cause it's true" comment about being called a genius was great.
9) Me and My Shadow Demon - I love love love the titular song.
8)Scoobra Kadoobra - Maldor!
7) Halloween Hassle - Daphne, Fred, and Scooby's Halloween costumes rock!
6) Sir Scooby and the Black Knight - Would be in the top 5 if that recreation director wouldn't have been a big meanie and played by the rules. ( At least Scrappy tried to show him how.)
A costume full of fish is delightfully bizarre.
5) Reluctant Werewolf - Vanna Pira is great.
4) Moonlight Madness - Very good flow to the story. Great Castle location. That moment where Scooby first (literally) bumps into werewolf Shaggy has perfect animation timing. The concept of the moonlight medallion is interesting. The ending concerning one in loneliness finding great companionship in himself is neat. The idea that little changes mean alot as we evolve as people. It keeps us interesting. He was lonely by himself because he hadn't changed. He was living in the past hoping to rekindle that same experience with Shaggy's ancestor with Shaggy.
3) Highland Fling - Shaggy and Scooby's scenes where they are wandering around the castle are wonderful. Particularly, everything in the library scene where they roast marshmallows. Scooby's centipede remark is pretty funny.
2) Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts - Zero complaints.
1 Hassle in the Castle - The best thing in the entire franchise!

10. I liked Velma's comment too, although it's funny because in the very next episode, she does her math incorrectly in the scene where she's calculating how many pizzas Shaggy can get for a million dollars lol.

9. I love it too, which presents a great contrast to the other song in the episode, "Goodnight Ghoulies," which is in a next-level tier of awfulness haha.

7. I love their costumes too! Also, random unrelated though, but I just realized all but two of last week's poll options are repeated in this week's poll. I believe that's the first time that's ever happened.

6. I'm genuinely wondering who that guy was and why he was wearing a suit of armor lol. Did he work for the hotel? The episode doesn't really make it clear who this person is and why he's doing what he's doing haha.

5. Vanna Pira is one of my favorite characters as well!

4. This is one of my favorite Scrappy shorts. I hadn't ever thought that deeply about the symbolism behind the butler's comment about being lonely, but that's a really cool interpretation that he felt close to Shaggy's ancestor!

3. I like that library scene a lot too! It's a really sweet moment of their friendship.

A Highland Fling With A Monstrous Thing:
I enjoyed this episode. I liked The Ghost of Finyann McDuff and the LochNess Monster as villains. I liked that the LochNess Monster was being controlled by bagpipes.

Another one of the better Scrappy shorts that felt like sort of a return to the classic Scooby formula, in the sense of there being monsters rather than them just being chased around by random people. The plot of the medallion turning anyone who wears it into a werewolf was a cool idea! It was interesting that the butler got turned into a werewolf at the end of the episode.

Who’s Minding The Monster:
I like this episodes take on Frankenstein’s monster. Daphne, Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy babysitting for Dracula and his wife was an interesting plot. The baby is actually a werewolf wow.

The werewolf kind of looks like a baby Shaggy and the fact it turns into a werewolf reminds me of Shaggy turning into a werewolf from Moonlight Madness. I liked that Shaggy was reading Little Red Riding Hood as the baby was turning into a werewolf. I liked Frankenstein and the duck swap brains.

That’s Monstertainment:
I liked this episode. It was cool that Zomba transported the gang and Vincent Can Ghoul into the tv and they are in the movie, The Son of the Bride of the Ghost of Frankenstein. Scooby as Dr. Frankenstein, Scrappy as Igor, Daphne as the bride of Frankenstein and Shaggy as a messenger. I liked that this Frankenstein monster looks like a dog. I liked how they caught Zomba and were able to transport back to the real world along with Frankenscoob.

I liked that the logo Scooby appeared on: Ranna Raerra is based on Hannah Barbera. Scooby eating the Scooby Snacks and becoming all strong is just like Popeye becoming strong when he eats Spinach.

This was one of my favorite 13 Ghosts episodes, and Zomba is my favorite of the 13 Ghosts. The parody of Frankenstein was fun! It was cool that they made Frankenstein's monster into a dog. Zomba was super creepy with her bug eyes, and I particularly thought the misanimated scene of her walking down the stairs was creepy. The Hanna-Barbera reference was cool.

Large Dragon at Large:
I liked this episode. I liked the Glasburgh Dragon as a villain. I enjoyed those two singers. Velma being forced to wear a dress haha. Shaggy and Scooby being put in those things and getting food thrown at them haha.

Jamison Steven Ripley as the culprit was pretty obvious. How he used a dragon to scare people away and hunt for treasure which turned out to be fake is just like in The Lochness Mess, Morgan, Window and Shelby were using the sea serpent to scare people away while they get the treasure which was also fake.

It was interesting that the GS Glasburgh studio logo looks just like the Warner Bros animation logo.

The ending was nice with Shane Flinty becoming the new king and Shaggy and Scooby pulling the sword from the stone.

Scooby Doo and The Loch Ness Monster:
I really enjoyed this movie. The Lochness Monster was a great villain. I liked that there was more than one Lochness Monster.

I liked Shannon Blake as a character. She looks just like Daphne. I liked that she mentioned that the Blake family has a long history of being danger prone and the rest of the gang looked at Daphne and she said what.

I thought it was kind of funny that Velma knew both Fiona Pembrooke and Sir Ian Locksley before Shannon got to introduced them. She had a book and knew everything about him.

Shaggy and Scooby sliding the bowl of hagis to one another was funny. Sir Ian asking Shaggy what tried to eat him, Shaggy said the Loch Ness monster then Sir Ian shouted FOR THE LAST TIME THERES NO SUCH THING AS THE LOCH NESS MONSTER. Haha. Shaggy and Scooby called a cab for them and Sir Ian, the cab stopped and he kicked them out haha.

Del Chillman was a funny character. Haha they found him sleeping in the back of the mystery machine on Velma’s poncho. Haha the Sheep said Bahamas.

Fiona Pembrooke was the one of the Lochness Monsters. All she wanted was to prove to Sir Ian that it really exists. Colin and Angus Haggary was the other Lochness Monster. They were doing it to pull off a prank. They are jokesters. Haha, their dad said “I should’ve prayed harder for daughters.

It was nice that Sir Ian, Fiona and dell decided to work together after seeing some new proof. Shannon got host the Highland games with Daphne.

In the end, we actually see the real Lochness Monster.

I liked how they showed us that all of Daphne's family was danger-prone. I really liked Del too and it was neat he appeared again in a future villain. The culprits weren't too surprising to me. The ending where everybody decided to work together to stop the Loch Ness Monster was really neat!

Scooby Doo Frankencreepy:
This was a really great movie. lt had a good plot and twist. It was interesting that Daphne had her own website called Jeepers It’s Daphne. I liked that the rest of the gang were added to the chat and talked about their past cases of Redbeards Ghost, Phantom Shadows, Mamba Wamba and Old Iron Face. The transition scenes were a bit over the top.

I liked how this movie leaned in into Velma’s family history and the reason she likes debunking the supernatural. Baron von Dickenstein created the Frankcreep. I liked the reference to Mary Shelley and Frankenstein. Like, how Baron von Dickenstein was the inspiration for her greatest story: Frankenstein.

I enjoyed the scene on the train. The people on the train gave me The Addams Family vibes. They were so creepy looking. Haha they repeat what the gang said.

The setting of Von Dickenstein Castle was really creepy.

The gang having the things they love taken away from them and the change of characters the gang went through was intriguing. Fred’s mystery machine blown up and he can’t stop thinking about it. Daphne becoming overweight and having frizzy hair. Velma believing in creating a real monster and have a mistress look. Shaggy and Scooby becoming brave and not hungry.

The Ghost of Baron von Dickenstein and The Frankencreep were pretty creepy villains. I liked that the ghost had an iron mask like Old Iron Face. I liked that the Frankencreep was a combination of animals.

The scene were the castle blew up and they thought mystery inc was dead after seeing Velma’s glasses blew up was interesting. Mr. Burger, Inspector Crunch, Mrs. Vanders and the Gypsy were all in on it. I liked that the gang scared them into their trap.

Inspector Crunch was Cuthbert Crawley (Crawls) who was one of the Phantom Shadows. Mr. Burger was C.L. Magnus who was Readbeard’s Ghost. The Gypsy was Lyla one of Mamba Wamba’s zombies. Ms. Vanders was Mama Mione who was Old Iron Face. They wanted revenge on mystery inc for ruining their plans and sending them to jail. It’s funny that they didn’t realize that the castle was standing on natural gas and they could’ve easily sell gas and made a fortune.

Iago was Agent Shmidlap. I didn’t see that coming.

The ending was nice with Velma giving the villagers rights to gas and they got the money. Agent Shmidlap giving Fred a new mystery machine with some updates. This movie also shows what the gang really love the most which is each other.

It was funny in the end credits that the fan was saying there are so many unanswered questions and Agent Shmidlap and his men broke into his house take him away.

This was a great film! Daphne's website was really interesting. I agree with you that the transitions got to be a bit over-the-top. It was cool to learn about Velma's history more, especially Baron Von Dinkenstein. I liked the setting of the castle. It was really interesting character development to have the gang have things they really loved taken away. I liked the Frankencreep and the Ghost of Baron Von Dinkenstein as villains. It was neat how the ghost looked just like Iron Face. I also thought it was cool that the Frankencreep was a combination of lots of different animals.

The gang's plan was genius and it was surprising they blew up the castle. It was surprising to see the culprits were their old foes, Mama Mione, Crawls, C.L. Magnus and Lila. Yeah, it was funny the culprits didn't realize about the natural gas haha. I was really surprised Iago was a secret agent.

I thought the ending was very sweet. It was cute that they realized what they most loved was being friends. The end credits were hilarious!

Lego Scooby Doo: Knight Time Terror:
This was the first lego Scooby Doo production and i liked it. I like to think of this episode as a lego version of What A Night For A Knight. The Black Knight was a creepy villain. Velma and Kyle were cute together. Sad that they had to say goodbye.

I remember very little about this special other than I enjoyed it haha. The Black Knight was a good villain. Don't remember Velma and Kyle haha.

Party Like it’s 1899:
This was a fun remake of Haunted House Hang Up. I liked that this episode was centered on a monster mystery party. Daphne was a Queen. Broderick was a king. Fred was a constable. Velma was a maid. Shaggy was a chimney sweet. Scooby Doo was Lady Bethabeth. The butler was the same haha.

Count Albrecht Warheim is based off Jefferson Stillwall. The invitation looking like Velma was funny.

The Headless Count was a great and creepy villain. I liked the he appears and disappears after a flash of lighting. It was funny that Shaggy and Scooby were laughing because of him having no head.

Velma stayed in character the whole time, trapped the Headless Count and solved the mystery. Shaggy and Scooby didn’t see that coming and said she is good.

Braderick Haverall as the culprit was really that surprising. He was stealing others people fortune since he lost all his. Haha Daphne said off with his head or jail works.

I liked that in the ending, it showed the gang in their costumes on a portrait.

This was a great episode and I loved how it allowed us to get to know the gang better. It was cool that it was a mystery mansion plot; I always enjoy those. I loved how this episode was a reimagining of "Haunted House Hang Up." The Headless Count was a super creepy villain. It was cool that Velma was able to solve the mystery while staying in character. The ending was cute.

Giant Problems:
This was a fun episode. In the opening that guy was about to stomp on the toy truck he hears stomping sound the the Giant steps on his truck. That was kind of creepy.

The Giant was a great villain. I liked the battle scene between him and the giant robot mystery machine.

Young Angus he’s so old and carries all that luggage haha.

Velma not understanding an Irish accent was funny. Daphne speaking in an Irish accent was funny. Fred being a knight was funny. Your not a Knight and your one 16th Irish haha.

Solomon the cook trying to feed Shaggy and Scooby cru beans and farl is just like Dr. Seuss’s Green eggs and ham. They did a really good job with the rhyming. In the end they actually ate it the nasty food and threw up.

This is the only episode of this series where Daphne says Jeepers.

Daphne having Irish ancestors in this episode reminds of her having Scottish ancestors from Lochness Monster.

The Giant was a great villain! I enjoyed this episode. The 1/16th Irish comment was interesting and I wonder if it was a callback to Thorn being 1/16 Wiccan in Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost. Oh wow, I didn't know that she never said Jeepers in any other episode. That's cool!

How To Train Your Coward:
This was a good episode. It had a dark spooky tone. The Vampire was a creepy and kind of scary villain.

The plot of this episode was unique. Shaggy and Scooby wanting to quit mystery solving after getting beat up by a monster from a previous case. They higher stand ins for them: Morley and Bumpy and they train the two to be exactly like them. The piano disguise was funny.

Fred, Daphne and Velma were about to give up until Shaggy and Scooby came and said that they are the counter balance of the gang.

It was funny that the police officer was about to steak the vampire.

I enjoyed Sheriff Boon. How he talks haha. Him being the culprit wasn’t that surprising. I guess I shouldn’t be surprise that Paco was in on it.

It was nice that Shaggy and Scooby decided to join the gang again.

Haha they just left Morley and Bumpy their.

One of the best Be Cool Scooby-Doo episodes! This episode definitely had a darker tone than most other episodes. I loved how unique the plot of this episode was. It's surprising they'd never explored that before given how frightened Shaggy and Scooby are haha. It was funny that they trained replacements for them. I wasn't surprised the Sheriff was the culprit either. Him staking the vampire was funny though.
