I almost put all of the episodes with Scooby's mother in this poll just to be silly (get it, because mummy? lol). I was pretty extensive with this poll and included any episode that even has a cameo from a mummy, even if a mummy wasn't the main villain. I didn't include Sobek from "Trading Chases" (Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!), as while he was the ghost of an Egyptian deity, he isn't a mummy. I did include Que Horrifico from "The Song of Mystery" (Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated) as while he's never directly said to be a mummy, he does very much have the appearance of one.

I was looking through and checking which of the mummies is scariest. While theatre of doom's was really scary, it didn't look much like a mummy to me. So I went with one of my favourite episodes from WNSD. Mummy Scares Best. I always though this mummy stood out from any other and was certainly one of the scariest.

"Theater of Doom" definitely didn't look like a traditional mummy, but I thought the design was super cool and it's arguably the scariest mummy in the franchise. That's my pick for this week.

the design was good but I'd prefer a classis traditional mummy and the scariest one if it's kind was "Mummy Scares Best" for me. 11/29/2021 04:41:27 pm
Agreed, that mummy was definitely the scariest traditional mummy Scooby has to offer (thus far).

Mummy scares best that one was pretty intense and scary. People getting sucked into the walls and being turn into zombies. The Mummy of Scames was pretty scary too especially when he tore of his headwear.

Ugh, hard to pick. I personally always consider just between the choices with the monster or aspect in question being a big part in them. Because otherwise I'd just pick an 80s movie or Innes movie every time.

It is really hard to pick! I try to always pick based on the monster aspect in these types of questions as well, but it's still hard even just picking based on that haha. I love the atmosphere of "Theater of Doom" and how scary the mummy is (though like you, shoutout to "Mummy Scares Best" as one of the scariest Scooby episodes of the decade), but I also have a lot of nostalgia over "Scooby-Doo and a Mummy, Too!" The Mummy of Ankha is the textbook example of a Scooby-Doo mummy for me.

Yeah Mummy Scares Best is one of the scariest Scooby Doo things in general of the decade. I love it

You forgot to include Tanis and Mummy Daddy from Scooby-doo and the Ghoul School.

Great point! I was only thinking of mummies that were villains, but you're right that Ghoul School should be added as an option since there were two mummies. I just added it, thank you!

Out of the ones where I feel mummies are prevalent, I am going with Mummy Scares Best

Yeah, I decided to be very broad for this poll and include any episode or film that had even a brief appearance from a mummy. I agree mummies aren't very prevalent in several of the options.

Yeah I am glad that you included them in case someone did want to choose them, but for myself, I will vote out of the options where it really feels prevalent. It feels weird picking against a Where Are You episode, but Mummy Scares Best kinda blows Mummy Too out of the water for me, as much as I appreciate Mummy Too as a classic episode 12/1/2021 03:08:44 pm
Same for me. I usually go with the nostalgia, but the mummy in "Mummy Scares Best" is a lot scarier and has a much cooler design.

I'm a huge fan of "Theater of Doom"'s story as well. It's such a unique storyline, particularly with Vincent Van Ghoul, and it worked in really well with the overarching plot of the show.

As I mentioned in a previous comment, this is the mummy I think of when I think of Scooby-Doo mummies. The fact that the mummy could turn people to stone was super creepy! I agree there were a lot of funny moments in this episode.

Me too! It's one of the best episodes of this series IMO, only beat by "Wedding Bell Boos" and "Scoobygeist." I enjoyed this episode's setting quite a bit. I thought the mummy in this episode looked a bit more silly than the Mummy of Ankha did with some of his facial expressions (especially at the part right between the act breaks).

Through his actions, yes, Pharaoh Scamses is the scariest mummy (I'd still say the Mummy of Friar Serra is scariest in appearance). His ability to zombify minions and seal people in walls is pretty terrifying. I really like Melbourne O'Reilly too and I'm glad they brought him back for this episode.

I love this movie and it's still one of my favorites. The villains were awesome, and I remember being shocked the first time I watched it that Velma was behind it. It was a very sweet motivation though. I also enjoyed the little side-mystery Shaggy and Scooby had.

The plot of this movie is just like Scooby Doo and a Mummy Too. The curse of people being turned to stone. Shaggy and Scooby find the quick dry cement used to to make stone statues. Culprits wanting to steal something that would lead them to an ancient treasure(s).

This is my favorite of the mummy episodes and one of my favorite episodes of SDMI overall. It was really cool that there was a real and fake mummy like you said. When I first watched this episode, I was shocked that they called back to "The Dog Dies" on the sign from "Creeping Creatures." I had thought it was just something the gator people were doing to scare the gang, not that it would be part of the overarching plot. I loved that they tied it into the overarching mystery. And of course, like you said it was funny that George Avocados was finally the culprit after the gang had suspected him twice before.

The cat mummy was a super creative villain and the nods the "Scooby-Doo and a Mummy, Too!" were neat. I admittedly didn't really like Ricky Gervais. He dominated the episode too much and made it not as enjoyable as it could have been IMO. I'm really glad you enjoyed the episode so much, though!
