"Ultra Instinct Shaggy" memes spread all over the Internet after a mash-up of Shaggy beating up a biker gang (from Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur) and Dragon Ball Z music went viral. The memes became so popular that a petition was created to include Shaggy in a Mortal Kombat game, which got millions of signatures. The Mortal Kombat creators originally said this would never happen. However, a developer of the Mortal Kombat games has created a new fighter game in the style of Super Smash Bros that has been confirmed to include Shaggy as a character. The game also includes popular characters such as Superman, Batman, Bugs Bunny. Even while it's not technically Mortal Kombat, the game will finally be putitng Shaggy in a fighter game, giving those that signed the petition their wish after years of waiting. The game will be released sometime during 2022, but an exact date has not been officially confirmed yet.
You can check out a first look of the game above.

This might be a very exciting game to play when it comes out, especially getting to play as Shaggy.

I think a lot of people are very excited about this game! It's cool that all the people who signed the petition are finally getting their wish after so many years!

Loved the article! Just a minor correction this game is nothing like Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat is an extremely violent rated M game that has characters guts and organs spilling out and lots of blood. This game seems more in line with Smash Bros. who has family friendly material. It’s fighting but no gore. Just slapstick action.

Thank you for the correction! I'm not very familiar with Mortal Kombat so I wasn't aware.

Hi; sorry, but I wanted to make a few minor corrections. For what i understand, Ed Boon has nothing to do with this game; and also, the mechanics/gameplay of this game are very different of games like Mortal Kombat. Anyway, really cool that Shaggy is on it, but i wish that they put Scooby also

No need to apologize, I really appreciate you pointing out my mistake! I fixed it now. I agree it would be cool to have Scooby alongside of Shaggy.

Probably shouldn't put Mortal Kombat in the title for all the aforementioned reasons.

Thanks for the correction. I've never played Mortal Kombat and am very unfamiliar with the gameplay, so I appreciate you all pointing out the mistake. A full Ultra Instinct Shaggy film would indeed be quite humorous haha.

It's crazy how this is actually happening! They even gave Ultra Instinct Shaggy a backstory. Apparently when the gang was out solving a mystery, Shaggy picked up a weird stone and bit it because he thought it was rock candy and it gave him powers lol.

The 1980s would've been groovier if Daphne was a fitness star 💜

I'm shocked they're doing this too! I wasn't aware they had given Ultra Instinct Shaggy a backstory but that's awesome lol. I kinda feel like Shaggy will be the only represented character from the Scooby universe, since I would imagine they would have announced it if there was.

I like the fact that WB are embracing the ultra instinct shaggy meme this year and it makes me wonder how much further is the meme going to be embraced? Is their going to be a dtv Scooby doo film abut UI Shaggy or maybe a Scooby doo and mortal kombat crossover.

I doubt there'd be a Scooby-Doo and Mortal Kombat crossover film, since the game is pretty violent and probably wouldn't be appropriate for kids (although I don't know enough about the Mortal Kombat to know if it could be toned down enough where they could make it appropriate for kids). I could definitely see a DTV film with Ultra Instinct Shaggy happening, though!

I mean if they were to make a scooby doo and mortal kombat crossover they could tone it down completely like they did with the live action mortal kombat films from the 90's but then I think of scoobynatural so maybe and thats a very big maybe they could sneak in some mortal kombat violence but not too much idk. As for a DTV movie about UI Shaggy yeah I could see that happening maybe it can be about shaggy coping with his new powers or the gang finding out the mystery behind his new powers 11/21/2021 05:57:08 pm
I wasn't aware there were live-action Mortal Kombat movies. Yeah, they've done a few things lately that have been more mature, like Scoobynatural and the Reunion Special, so who knows if WB would want to create a more mature Mortal Kombat/Scooby crossover. I like your DTV ideas!

Not surprised by this, but still happy regardless. Smash Bros type games are becoming a trend with Nickelodeon also doing one. I’m willing to bet Scooby will be one of the next characters added once they expand their roster

I wasn't aware Nickelodeon was doing a Smash Bros. like game too! That's really interesting.

I for one think people need to tone down their expectations/ideas when it comes to crossovers which they would like to see when it comes to Scooby-doo. You may not be aware of this, but some fans have imagined a Scooby/Alice in wonderland, Jack in the beanstalk, Winnie the pooh crossover altought I truly doubt they will ever come true. I fear that some people are truly coming with too many silly crossovers ideas.

I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but two of those crossovers have actually happened. There were two Richie Rich / Scooby-Doo Show shorts that reimagined Jack and the Beanstalk and Alice in Wonderland. If we're talking about actual crossovers (i.e. "Scooby meets Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk!"), I wouldn't want that, but I think it could be cool if they created a full-length movie reimagining Alice in Wonderland in the tone of Scooby if they were to do it right. The Richie Rich Hour short didn't have enough time to develop much of a plot, and there was kinda too much going on at once for it to work. I do agree with you that it could be done in a cringey way, though.

I really don't think there is a need for a Scooby-Doo and Mortal Kombat crossover film to happen at all, besides I like the Mortal Kombat franchise just fine the way it is not everything thing should be toned down you know.

Personally I'm not a fan of the Mortal Kombat franchise and I'm not all that excited about this, but I do think it's cool that they did this for those that signed the petition.
