I absolutely adored this episode! Morgan Freeman was an incredible guest star, and his narration was amazing! His narration throughout the mystery sort of served as a meta-analysis of the gang from an outsider's lens, which I found to be so cool. The setting was super creepy, and I loved the villain too! The references to The Creeper and the Jane Jetson poster were really cool, and the head nod from Captain Cutler was hilarious!
Honestly, Morgan Freeman narrating the entire episode was just so cool to me and the whole episode being structured like a documentary was such a unique and amazing idea. I want Morgan Freeman to narrate my life now lol. I did guess who the villain was, though I guessed grandson instead of great grandson, so I was slightly off haha. All I've done is rave about this episode, so does it top my rankings as the new favorite episode of Guess Who? Not quite...it's edged out slightly by the Hex Girls one. It's going to take a lot to dethrone that one for me haha. Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. I Put a Hex on You! 2. The Last Inmate! 3. The Sword, The Fox and the Scooby-Doo! 4. One Minute Mysteries! 5. I agree that this episode was really good. Morgan seemed interested in the role, at least as enthusiastic as he ever sounds. The monster had a cool design, and there was another superb setting. It doesn't quite reach my top but it is definitely in the upper echelon

Oh gosh yeah, honestly, now seeing the contrast between Morgan/Kristen Schaal and Kacey Musgraves, I feel like a big component of these episodes' likability is the guest star's interest in the role. There are certain guest stars who felt like they were just phoning it in, but episodes like these where you can tell the guest star is genuinely excited about the role are always great!

100% I think Kacey was still interested in here role, just less so compared to others. Her interest was somewhere around George Takei's if I were to guess. The only question I'm left with is why did the concept image of Morgan Freeman have a cowboy hat. I get that they probably started with a western episode and then pivoted, but why didn't they just ditch the hat? I was so looking forward to Morgan Freeman narrating an old western. 10/3/2020 01:50:39 pm
Yeah, that's probably a fairer way to put it. She didn't seem uninterested per se, but not quite as interested as many others.

If this episode was a dud, I would've exploded. You can't go wrong with Morgan Freeman, he's a legend! Top 3 ep for sure.

I needed some time to make sure I liked it more than Jeff Foxworthy and Sherlock Holmes (hence top 3), but now I would say Morgan Freeman's the best episode of the show so far. 10/3/2020 01:51:44 pm
Oh wow, I didn't realize Jeff's was so high for you. He was very middle of the road for me. I have him at #14.

I voted for Wainsly Hall in the Guess Who poll. And even I was a bit surprised that episode tied for second there lol

Haha yeah, I loved the spooky setting of that one too but didn't enjoy Jeff as a guest star very much. He was fine, but the "country boy" jokes got old really fast.

Man this episode was great and the narration top notch. Loved the monster and the setting. Kind of similar to if you can’t Scooby doo the time don’t Scooby doo the crime.

Also the caretaker looks like an elderly Jamison Hyde White.

2nd favorite episode for me too! I really enjoyed the documentary aspect and it was something new so that’s always fun. Episode is a huge step up over the previous one hopefully the next couple are just as amazing as this.

When Urkel Bots Go Bad. It was a really fun episode IMO and I didn't mind the guest star like a lot of other people did.

I totally agree him calling out the gang's clichés wouldn't have worked with any other episode. I thought the setting and the villain were both amazing too!

You know...In my honest opinion I think this episode should been titled (My Last Inmate!) instead of (The Last Inmate!) just to make it sound a bit more hilarious.
