It's the second re-released movie compilation in two days! This time, the compilation is called "Scooby-Doo! Greatest Mystery Adventures Collection" and will be released on September 8. The films include: Cyber Chase, Chill Out, Abracadabra Doo, Mask of the Blue Falcon, Stage Fright, Rock and Roll Mystery, Shaggy's Showdown and Gourmet Ghost. According to WBShop, the set will be $25 for eight movies. Here's the back cover: While I'm always excited to be getting new Scooby DVDs, I'm pretty bummed out that they're spamming out the re-releases. We still have 158 unreleased Scooby-Doo episodes out there, which is a lot, and in my opinion, they should be releasing at least some of those. We haven't gotten any unreleased episodes on DVD this year, which is unfortunate. I really hope we get at least a couple of the unreleased episodes out on DVD, otherwise, this could be the first year in a while where the list of unreleased Scooby episodes didn't change at all.

I agree so much about the unreleased episodes thing. WB are milking those compilation dvds now and they ignore big fans who just want the unreleased episodes.

It's a bummer, and it's clear they have access to release all those episodes whenever they want given they're all on the Boomerang app. I think they're just worried about taking a chance on some of the episodes left, like the Scrappy ones or the Get A Clue ones because they're not well-liked and they don't want to lose money. But still, you think it would be at least worth releasing them in some shape or form? Like on a compilation DVD with other released episodes they know people like?

But this compilation dvd isn't supposed to release unreleased episodes its supposed to rereleased dtv movies and they released an unreleased episode on the scooby doo return to zombie island dvd also maybe they will be so unreleased episodes on the happy halloween scooby doo dvd 8/2/2020 03:06:06 pm
Yep, I know it wouldn’t really fit this particular compilation to have unreleased episodes. I would just like them to stop releasing so many of these types of compilation DVDs, and more season sets or the 13 Spooky Tales type DVDs so we can bring that unreleased episode list down a bit.

About the only credit I'll give them is I'm fairly sure the covid mess has affected a lot more than we'll ever fully know. Though with the push of WB Archive and releasing things MoD I am surprised we've had no announcements of these things being MoD so maybe there's still hope...

I'm sure you're right. Even before the pandemic, I've been surprised there's not been more of a push to release stuff like the Scrappy era or Laff a Lympics season 2 (or The Scooby-Doo Show season 2, for goodness sake) on Warner Archive MOD. As I don't think they'd be too concerned about sales underperforming there, right?

Yea, that's the benefit of MoD, if they get 5 sales meh, if they get 50 hurrah! Downside is price, but I'd love to have all of Be Cool Scooby Doo, season 2 of the Scooby doo show, and probably some others I'm too tired to look at. But there's hope, they did release the finals seasons of Taz Mania and Duck Dodgers MoD, so if scooby stops selling that might be how this goes for us... heck I'd take it, I have a bunch of MoD cartoons, and would love to have a few other forgotten ones (Fangface, no one remembers Fangface) 8/3/2020 01:27:36 pm
So it seems they're still holding out hope they can still somehow release the episodes without going the MOD route, which in turn means we don't get the episodes. It's a shame, but I guess that means we still have hope!

They did bring down the list a bit when they released that episode from the new scooby doo mysteries on the return to zombie island I know i'm repeating myself but i just want to make that clear alsoI don't think they are going to release all 158 episodes because they tried to release all episodes of shaggy and scooby doo get a clue episodes but the volumes sold so poorly that they only released 2 volumes yes the released some episodes on compilations and as bonus features but my point still stands

I understand your point. Just in my opinion, I'd love to see them release more unreleased episodes at some point, however they see fit, instead of going so heavily on the compilation sets that are all re-released content. "Ghosts of the Ancient Astronauts" from the New Scooby-Doo Mysteries had also already been released on a prior set in 2012, "13 Spooky Tales Around the World."

Also where did the conversation about unreleased scooby doo episodes come from you didn't mention it when you were talking about the other compilation dvd coming in october 6th

It's just a general wish I have, that WB have more of a balance of re-released and previously unreleased content. I was just making a side note about it at the end of this post, given how many re-released compilations they've put out. I understand their reluctance with the Scrappy and Get A Clue episodes, but there are still 5 episodes of The Scooby-Doo Show, and whole seasons of Laff-A-Lympics and Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! that haven't been released yet. I think a lot of fans would like to see those episodes released, so I just wish that they would start releasing some of those instead of re-releasing the same episodes and films over and over. "Hassle in the Castle" has been released on 20 different sets already, as an example. I'm not saying that they should stop releasing any content they've already released, because $25 for 8 movies is a pretty good price, I just wish they'd at least try to release some stuff that hasn't been already on countless DVD sets.

WB won't let WAC have any Scooby-doo since they say they that scooby is way too popular for them to have any so no MoD releases won't happen from them.

Then by definition there is still hope of release, it's either popular enough to get a big release, or it slips enough that we get MoD.

MoD releases, would need to come from WAC and NOT from WB bu as I said this won't happen since WB does not want to give WAC any Scooby-Doo.

I still hold out hope they'll release those sets then eventually, or at the bare minimum, we get those 158 missing episodes scattered across various compilation DVDs.

Wait I thought we were getting a dvd containing season 1 of scooby doo and guess who also maybe wizards and warlocks will release on scooby doo in king arthurs court dvd and saying they don't treat it as their no 1 franchise is a bit much considering how much dtv movies they release for scooby doo and tbey barely release dtv movies for other hb franchises 8/5/2020 10:17:18 am
The UK is getting one, though no announcements have been made for the US quite yet which is why I didn't mention it. I think the UK date has been moved, as it was supposed to be released this year, but then was moved back to next year.

Yes they release regular straight to video films, 2 or 3 a year but the quality of them isn’t all that great. I would prefer quality over quantity as I’m sure many others would.

Yeah the quality of the dtv movies may variy because their are some good ones and some bad ones and the next one looks pretty good but my point is the fact the wb releases new content for scooby doo more that any other hb franchise so I do think they treat scooby doo as their no 1 franchise and why do you think they keep rereleasing the dtv movies and episodes to cash in on it which is what companies do when they have a popular franchise on their hands

I definitely agree with you and Deandre with the quality over quantity argument here. I'm not saying the quality of the DTVs is horrible, but I feel many of them could be better (though that's just my opinion).

Despite “scared a lot in Camelot” being the one that ‘belongs’ to accompany the King Arthur film, sadly its on the dynomutt Boxset.

Interesting that you guys get the film a little earlier than we do! On Target, it lists it as coming out September 22, but I'm uncertain if that's an early release or just a mistake.

HMV have it on already with that date and the price is £6.99. Though Tesco often mis-price these not realising it’s a new film. I remember picking up 13th Ghost brand new for £5. I expect them to do the same next month.

Bizarre that Tesco doesn't check into it being a new film better, but I guess good for all of you buyers haha.

I agree that I would prefer more of the unreleased episodes to be put out on disc, as I buy each of the new releases as the come out, and collections like these don't usually attract me.

Good to see you on here again, Captain Furry! :) I absolutely agree with everything you said. I don't find these sets appealing at all, except to reduce shelf space. I feel they would need to be all in order though for me to consider purchasing though (i.e. the 2003-2009 collection or something), since I would want all the movies to still be in order on my shelf.
