 Great news for Guess Who fans, as WB has just announced that they will be releasing the complete second season on DVD this summer! The Season 2 DVD will released on June 28, 2022 in the United States. Canadian Scooby fans will have a bit more of a wait, as the second season will not be released on DVD in Canada until December 6, 2022. The DVD set will include all 26 episodes on four discs. The DVD will be $24.98 in the United States, and $29.98 in Canada. The official box art for the set can be seen above. I quite like the box art, but I must say Scooby looks like he may be in need of serious medical attention lol.
It's worth noting that "The Horrible Haunted Hospital of Dr. Phineas Phrag," and "The Last Inmate" are on the set in a different order than they aired in the United States. "The Movieland Monsters!" is also listed as "The TV and Movieland Monsters!" Both of those things would be great! It baffles me how they don't release the last four episodes of The Scooby-Doo Show. Unlike the remaining Scrappy episodes, Get A Clue and Be Cool, I can't see any reason why WB would be worried about releasing those four episodes on DVD. I feel like they would make quite a bit of money if they were ever put out on DVD. Hopefully they'll finally be released someday!

Yeah, I think you're right. I don't think they will want want to do a big season release because it will make more money for them, like you said. It's still odd to me how The Scooby-Doo Show season 2 didn't just get a release back when they were releasing season sets. Sure, the season is a little short, but they released so many volume sets that I wouldn't think it would have been a problem.

I'd add The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show to that list as well, but yeah, I'd be happy too :) Although the completist in me would kind of like them to just release all the episodes, but I think that will be much more challenging for the Scrappy shorts and Get a Clue. I know they stopped making the Get a Clue volumes because they were selling terribly, and I imagine it's the same with the Scrappy shorts.

Yeah, those three episode volumes are realluy difficult to find! It also really bothered me they split the Laff-a-Lympics episodes on the Spooky Games set so you still have to buy the other two volumes to own all the episodes. It's a clever marketing strategy on their part, but it's not the best for us collectors since it requires us to spend a lot more money for just a few episodes lol.

I definitely understand your perspective! I would have preferred Be Cool season 2 as well, but I'm just happy they're releasing any new episodes at all at this point. The DVD releases have been really lacking lately.

I was confused by that as well, since you're right, they are both region 1. It doesn't make sense to space out the release dates that much, as it's just going to make people in Canada buy from the US.

That's super weird! I got the cover from WB Marketing, who sent me the press release. I notice that the cover on Amazon doesn't have anything that says "The Complete Second Season" on it (it's just the show logo), so I'm not sure the cover has changed. I'm wondering if maybe they used a stock image as a placeholder? Either way, that's really strange!

I find it even more weird they had the correct cover up and then changed it. I wonder if they'll switch it back. Interestingly enough, Amazon's description for Music of the Vampire still shows some incorrect summary in the product description about Daphne becoming the star of a vampire film. https://www.amazon.com/Scooby-Music-Vampire-Matthew-Lillard/dp/B006GQQL50/ They've had it up since 2012 and haven't changed it, so I don't have too much hope they'll fix it even if the cover is incorrect haha.

To me, the most blindly wishful dream would be WB releasing (physically or digitally) those late '90s-early '00s TV specials! Those classic one-off projects on Cartoon Network from back in the Scott Innes era. All 4 of them — Scooby-Doo: Behind the Scenes (1998), The Scooby-Doo Project (1999), Scooby-Doo/Courage the Cowardly Dog Scare-a-Thon (2000), and Night of the Living Doo (2001). I love the fact they did those back then, during the great early DTV era made my Mook Animation. These specials almost felt like little add-ons to each of those 4 awesome Jim Stenstrum Scooby movies, adding even more awesomeness in the mix.

That would be amazing to have those released! I totally agree with you that these specials feel like an extension of the Mook era DTVs. It is really cool that the director of the speical released it officially on Vimeo. I can't believe CN made it either, but it just goes to show how popular Scooby was in the 90s on Cartoon Network. I also love "Night of the Living Doo," though there are some Guess Who episodes I like better than it. "Night of the Living Doo" definitely does a better job with comedic tone than Guess Who did IMO.

I don't understand it either. I think it's just that people hated on the art style so much that WB didn't think it would sell week, I guess. I love the show as well, and I wish people could look past the animation (which isn't that bad, in my opinion) so they could see what a great, funny show this is.

I wish I knew. I've always found it really odd that they completely ignored this and The Scooby-Doo Show season 2. Interestingly, I thought Dynomutt season 2 had a much darker tone than the first season, just like The Scooby-Doo Show.
