This was an amazing episode!
The atmosphere was genuinely spooky, and Penn and Teller were great guest stars. I'm glad we got some female minor characters finally, as I think all of them up to this point have been male. The villains were super cool looking too! Penn seemed a tad off at the beginning when he said "Ghosts aren't real." but I can't put my finger on how. I was genuinely shocked that Teller was the villain! I liked the explanation behind why he dressed up. That has to be a first in the Scooby-Doo team ups that the guest star was ever a villain! The gang's personalities were pretty decent in this episode, especially Daphne's quirks from Be Cool Scooby-Doo sort of coming back. The gang's costumes were awesome too! Honestly, almost everything about this episode was awesome! The one part I can say that I absolutely hated in this episode was the fart joke in the elevator. It wasn't even close to funny, and I was very disappointed they chose to use a bodily function joke here. Otherwise, I really appreciated everything about this episode. I'd say the Sherlock Holmes episode slightly edged it out, but not by much. Here's hoping that we get more episodes like this coming up soon!

I was also very surprised that the guest star was a villian, i never thought the creators would actually pull something like that off

Having Teller be the villain was a really cool idea! I also hope episode 8 is as good as this one - the three previews I've seen look pretty cool!

all the scooby doo and guess who episodes came out on a thursday... except for "A Mystery Solving Gang Divided" (Im pretty sure that is how you write the title) and from what ive seen so far... most of the episodes came 3 days after the episode was released, which is on a Sunday. So following this logic... episode 8 should be on a sunday if it follows the same pattern as all the other episodes 8/15/2019 06:18:50 pm
True, I think all the episodes have been typically coming out on a Sunday on KimCartoon then on WatchCartoonOnline on Monday, as they directly take the eps from the KimCartoon uploads (they even have the KimCartoon logo on the top left corner!)

The sad thing is that I suspected Teller way back in the trailer on June 20th.

Yea so did I... and the fact that one picture of this episode was the exact scene of the colorless picture we got a year back. It was long ago I suspected this guy (or penn) to be the villian

Huh, I actually didn't. I vaguely suspected him when Penn kept saying he wasn't good enough, but then I pushed the thought from my mind because they've never had the guest star be a villain before.

I had those same thoughts but it become obvious when they "left" teller in the building 8/15/2019 07:00:57 pm
I have to admit, that also caused me to wonder whether he was the villain, but I kept telling myself "no, they've never done that." That'll teach me to overthink things I guess, this is the first culprit of the series I haven't guessed!

Am I the only one who suspected Teller halfway through the episode? 😁 Nevertheless I enjoyed this episode a lot, it might just be my favorite so far.

I thought about it, then I was like "nah, they wouldn't have the guest be a villain!" But yeah, this one is probably my second favorite so far. Sherlock Holmes just barely beats it out for me!

I thought it could be Teller, but did try to dismiss it as nah, guess star can't be the villain. It was a very cleverly done episode with 2 great guest stars. Best episode so far.

Agreed! It was ingenious of them to pick him, probably knowing that none of the viewers would ever believe it was the guest star.

This isn't the only source I found online, I found so many more but I will just show only this one 8/19/2019 09:33:17 am
Huh, interesting. That title would make sense given Jim Gaffigan's shtick is making fun of his own weight and how much he likes to eat.

Solid Episode. I hadn't seen the trailer. In fact, this is why I avoid trailers. Sometimes they hint at or completely give stuff away. I actually thought the construction worker guy that was trying to do the card trick was the obvious villain and I was thinking ... HERE WE GO AGAIN, there is like ONE person who could be the villain and it turns out to be them. ... as such, I was surprised in the best way possible that I was wrong. This series has at times been too obvious and even FAR too obvious. I love that I didn't have everything figured out. I never even considered Teller until Velma tried to calm down Penn in the final scene, as soon as she did that, it was obvious.

I agree about trailers giving stuff away unnecessarily. I also enjoyed that I didn't know who the ghost was!

I read BCSD's attempt to "be cool" (no pun intended, but actually pun intended) the same way you did, and from my talks with the head writer JCB I believe that was the correct way. I definitely didn't take the series as an appeal to be "street." In fact, a lot of the comedy was pretty absurd by regular humor standards.

Interesting perspectives, guys. I definitely never got the feeling or even considered that BCSD was NOT SERIOUS about the Scooby character pandering to the urban dictionary. 11/15/2022 04:14:00 pm
I see I missed this one too. I don't even think Matt the Pirate comes on this site anymore, but if you do, here's your reply three years late lol.

I apologize for not responding to your comment. I'm not attempting to ignore them; as I've mentioned before, sometimes the comments on older threads don't notify me that there's a new comment so I just didn't see it. If I've missed one, you can always just let me know and I'm happy to reply to it. No need to get upset, as I don't ever intentionally ignore your comments.
