Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? Episode 35 Review

This was another enjoyable episode! I was surprised that they reused the caveman from Where Are You's design, because that makes two episodes in a row that the villains were just reused Where Are You designs. It also makes two winter episodes in a row, which I believe is a franchise first! The Caveman was a great villain, and felt more menacing than the Where Are You because of the forcefulness of hitting things with his club, where he was actually able to destroy things and shake buildings whereas I don't think that was the case in Where Are You.

Chloe was a good guest star. Overall, no complaints about the episode! It almost felt like it could have been a What's New episode, honestly. For me, this episode is right below the last one.

Honestly not a fan of this one. I feel like the mystery didn't take up much time in the episode, it felt like one long and awkward chase. I also found Chloe's involvement off. Aside from the snowboarding tricks and saving the gang, she just joined them and didn't really offer anything. Not a terrible episode but it's definitely lower than most episodes.

One thing I forgot to mention was I didn't like the reused caveman design. I was expecting something like the one in either BCSD or the novel by James Gelsey; what caveman is going shirtless in the rocky mountains. I get the nostalgia but I wss hoping for some common sense.

That's a fair point. The chase was kinda long and awkward, I agree, but I didn't mind it overly much. The reused caveman was fine for me.

Just saw the episode and it was pretty good. Chloe as a guest star was good. The comparison of the episode to scooby’s night with a frozen fright was pretty interesting. Finding a frozen caveman, some one putting the heater on, making the cave man thaw. The gang even started thinking that they’ve done this before. I also didn’t mind the reused caveman. Yes it be better if they redesigned him or used something more original. Like how they found the mammoth at the end of the episode, what the mammoth was the monster instead.

I didn't mind the reused caveman either. The mammoth gag at the end was pretty funny.

Then again we should be to upset on how they reuse monsters. They used red beard again in the new Scooby doo movies except he is all white in his second appearance. Be cool Scooby doo the resumes some monsters like ghost of Elias Kingston or the phantom. Some Scooby doo books reused monsters from Scooby doo where are you.

I think there's a difference between lazy reusing like the New Scooby-Doo Movies episode and reimagining the villains with meta-references like in Be Cool. I personally enjoy the reimaginings more than the blatant recolorings like we see some of the old episodes.

Hmm, intriguing to see people's varying opinions of this one. Personally I enjoyed it a lot and loved the throwback to the Where Are You. Yeh, I'd agree the Mystery seems a little rushed. Might have been better having Fred Daphne and Velma separated from the other 3 and actually finding clues on their own, such as how Velma knew about the plane in the first place. Overall and enjoyable an episode but again with flaws. 14/35, 4 more to go till I reveal my fully updated list.

People's opinions were really varied on this one! One issue this series pretty consistently has is rushing the mysteries so there are hardly any clues to be found, which kinda stinks for those of us who are here for the mystery element (which I would assume is most of us).

Agreed, won't deny I like the comedic aspect of certain episodes, but there needs to be a greater balance, having some episodes with more in depth mysteries combined with some that are more comedic Shaggy and Scooby running from the villain could have made the series a lot better overall.

YES!!! I just saw this episode, and although there were barely any flipping clues, I was able to solve the mystery!!! This is the first guess who episode where i solved the whole thing with logic, and not just guessing who it was!!
