I liked this episode! Tim was a really good guest star and seemed into his role, and he had a nice presence in this episode. The monster was really cool as well, and solved the mystery of the zombie bellhop (or as we assumed) that appeared briefly in the clip show from "The High School Wolfman's Musical Lament!" My only gripe with the episode is that there didn't feel like there was great pacing in terms of the mystery.
I loved the reference to 13 Ghosts with Shaggy's red shirt! That was so clever! This episode was good, though it wasn't amazing and charted just above mid-way at #16/33. Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. I Put a Hex on You! 2. The Last Inmate! 3. The Sword, The Fox and the Scooby-Doo! 4. One Minute Mysteries! 5. Dance Matron of Mayhem! 6. The Horrible Haunted Hospital of Dr. Phineas Phrag! 7. One of the highlights of the season. I liked Tim, and he really seemed to like his role. I liked the monster, although it irritated me that they kept calling it the elevator operator ghost; that is the most obvious looking/acting zombie I've ever seen. Definitely a solid episode.

Wow, a highlight of the season for you? I thought it was pretty average compared to some others like Morgan and Kristen's. And yeah, I totally agree with you it should have been called a zombie.

I know people will think its weird, but this is my favorite of the season. Morgan Freeman and Kristen Schaal take second and third respectively, but I really liked this one.

These are on the boomerang service so I can't actually get links for now. I would say keep an eye on kimcartoon/watchcartoons if they get the episodes early. If they don't have them, I'll share the links from sharemania when they get posted in like a week.

Was it specifically a 13 Ghosts ref? Or just a red shirt Shaggy ref, so including the Superstars movies?

No, you're right, it was just a red shirt Shaggy reference. Shaggy was looking through his closet of all green shirts, then comes across a red one and says "how did that get in here?!?"

This episode was really good. Tim Gunn a good guest star very into his role. The monster is very scary and looks and sounds more of a zombie than a ghost. Plus how Tim explain shaggy outfit and how make him run fast was pretty interesting.

Another error at 8:49, cafeteria shutters not closed! I LOVED THIS EPISODE, THE BEST BY FAR, Tim Gunn, who I had never heard of previously, complimented Scooby and Shaggy perfectly and it was just a hilarious old fashioned Scooby Doo episode and I loved the fact the monster didn't scare the gang till nearly halfway through the episode. Ues as soon as they found the secret room I guessed immediately who it was but overall SUPERB, had me laughing throughout!

I'm glad you liked it so much! Why is the cafeteria shutters not being closed an animation error? I guess I don't remember the context of that part.

The lunch lady closes the cafeteria, refuses to re-open for them and pulls the shutters down literally moments before the shot! 10/7/2020 03:35:44 pm
Oh geez, another one to add to the episode guide then! Thanks so much, I'll add that this afternoon!

Very good episode! I had a blast with this one but there is one problem that I had, it’s the whole second act of the episode where the gang is just running away from the monster. Which I don’t mind too much but that makes guessing the villain pretty easy IMO

Since the whole second act was filled with the gang just running that made for a lack of clues which equals a lack of mystery but over all its 14th place on my scoreboard.

Honestly, that was my issue with the episode too. I did like this episode a lot, but that's why it didn't get placed as high as some people have placed it on their lists. Leave a Reply. |
