I really liked this episode! This one was a nice take on the classic Frankenstein story and had a very original monster! The deep lore around the monster was a breath of fresh air and is something we didn't really get in the last episode with the gargoyle.
I thought Alton Brown did a great job as a guest star. He seemed super into the role and provided a great addition to the gang. Though I sort of suspected the villain was Alton himself, I thought it was a neat twist to have (almost) everyone be the villain. This is definitely one of the better episodes of this season so far and would definitely recommend it. Still can't get into that intro though, it's so annoying I have to skip it every time. :P How does this one rank up? This one actually cracks my top 10 just barely, knocking out "What a Night, for a Dark Knight!" Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. I Put a Hex on You! 2. The Last Inmate! 3. The Sword, The Fox and the Scooby-Doo! 4. One Minute Mysteries! 5. Dance Matron of Mayhem! 6. The Horrible Haunted Hospital of Dr. Phineas Phrag! 7. Elementary, My Dear Shaggy! 8. This episode was very meh. I think part of the reason I don't love it is because I had really high expectations. I saw through the mystery pretty quickly, and I hated the pacing. I felt like it was way to fast to allow for the extra long motive/unmasking section. I feel like it would have been a lot better if they gave a little more time for the mystery.

I feel like that's a problem a lot of them have. I didn't really have high expectations because I didn't know who Alton Brown even was before this episode.

He is a really smart-ass chef. The whole reason he got into the food show business was because he tried watching them to learn how to cook but he felt like he could do better than those on television at the time.

Okay, interesting. I'll admit if I would have known a little more about him, I may have had higher expectations than I did (like how I was let down by the Jim Gaffigan episode, because he was super out of character).

I disagree I think the shows intro has a pretty damn catchy tune to it.

That's fair. I know it's supposed to be like Where Are You, I just find it kinda annoying.

So it's like Simple Plan and the Invisible Madman in that regard (except the guest is also part of it this time)?

Not quite, there is only one villain and culprit, it's just that multiple people were in on it. It becomes really obvious halfway through what's going on.

Aww, sorry. It's definitely a good episode, but Morgan Freeman, Kristen Schaal and Sandy Duncan are all better IMO.

Just saw the episode on Kim I really liked it. It kind of reminded me of Scooby doo Frankecreepy because of ancestor of someone creating a monster. A spooky castle set in Germany.

What started as such a strong episode with a unique monster rapidly deteriorated in the 2nd half. As soon as Alton was kidnapped I was like oh no, here we go again. BORING. Lame reasoning and completely forgettable, such a shame after an excellent and intriguing first half, in the end, a complete load of garbage, 29/32.

Hmm, I didn't mind this episode honestly. The unique monster and plot was cool, but yeah, the reasoning was a bit lame lol.

Yeah, sorry to be so harsh but it was just such an overused trope of oh look the guest star is the villain AGAIN, ruined the whole mystery for me personally, but yeah monster was cool.

You're absolutely not the only one person who I've heard that argument from, both about Guess Who in general and this episodes specifically, so I wasn't shocked or anything by your reaction :)

I wonder why they make guest stars as culprits. I don’t really mind as long as the episode is good. It is kind of weird though and pretty repetitive.

They really seem to like that in this series for some reason, it feels like.

I thought it was a decent episode. The jokes actually landed this time but the main problem is the end when the guest star was the villain. Once I saw Alton frozen and automatically knew who it was. I don’t know why they like making the guest star the villain since we already know it’s going to happen once he gets taken offscreen.

Yeah, it was a very easy culprit to guess. They seem to have an issue with making it painfully easy to guess the culprit when it's the guest star.

Agreed, the episodes can get very formulaic sometimes. I've guessed the villain pretty much every episode as well, because it's always the least suspicious one.
