In all honesty, I thought this episode was very middle-of-the-road. I loved the setting and the monster, but Neil and especially Bill's performances seemed very phoned in and it didn't seem like they were into it. The episode wasn't bad, it was just sort of "meh" and not anything noteworthy or memorable in the slightest. I did think it was cool that the background of that area where they tried to trap the Tardigrade was in the same style as the opening background for The New Scooby-Doo Movies intro.
One sort of general note I also had was that I feel like "The High School Wolfman's Musical Lament" may have been intended as the season finale, because it seems much more like one than this did. I guess they mentioned Bill and Neil knowing Urkel though, which I thought was funny. Also, notice that this episode is the second to not have an exclamation mark in the title. I know this was a pretty short review, but this was just really a very unmemorable episode! One last time, let's update the episode rankings for the end of the season! Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. I Put a Hex on You! 2. The Sword, The Fox and the Scooby-Doo! 3. One Minute Mysteries! 4. Dance Matron of Mayhem! 5. Elementary, My Dear Shaggy! 6. Too Many Dummies! 7. When Urkel-Bots Go Bad! 8. Yeah, it felt to me like their line delivery was really poor and they weren't into their roles at all. Neil had some good lines, but Bill especially felt like he just wasn't into it which is a shame because I think he could have been a really cool guest star.

The most lines I hated were Fred's and Daphne's. Barely any but honestly this kind of reminded me of be cool scooby doo season 2 episode 26 where professor huh is landing the jet. I liked the scenes and the chases so I would place this around #9 on the scoreboard 5/13/2020 10:33:13 am
That's an interesting parallel to BCSD! And I also continue to be annoyed by the fact that Daphne and Fred (and sometimes Velma) hardly get any lines.

I uploaded the episode last night. The resolution isn't the quality of other episodes I've posted, but I think it's good enough. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jI9dEsB9vJhkSIGqjXeIot76Kxp3R4rn/view?usp=drivesdk

I agree on your points. When I first heard both guest stars were in one episode, I was disappointed because I didn't think either would have the proper exposure in the episode. My expectations were low, but they were still crushed. At least the mystery was decent. Here's my final list:

Good to know that it wasn't just me. Looks like it ranked about the same place on your list as mine, albeit a little higher.

meh, I know you guys didn't quite like it but I think it at least deserves to be in the top ten( my opinion) the chases weren't boring and the beginning where they get attacked is nice and its quite scary with the hand on the door too! The guest stars seemed phoned because, yes they're known for knowing smart things. But repeating the "intresting facts" got boring because basically they're known for that and that's all they did. It seemed like a stereotype to me. 5/14/2020 08:28:46 am
There were some interesting moments in this and the villain was cool, but I agree that the interesting facts got really boring after a while. I think it could have worked if they would done it more strategically instead of just having them say interesting facts every two seconds.

Finally an episode we agree on, nearly, absolutely snoozeville. Dull unimaginative, easy to guess villains. Sorry, spoilers, the 2 villains are supposed to be smart scientists, surely one of them being the monster and the other being with the gang and vice versa would have been smarter and drawn suspicion away from them. Really dull guest stars who didn't seem interested at all. Somehow this episode only comes 6th bottom. Shows the quality of this series, real hit and miss. Here is my list,

Glad we finally agree haha! It makes me a little sad that this series is so hit or miss and dependent on the guest star. At least all the New Scooby-Doo Movies guest stars were into it, these two seemed like they didn't even wanna really be there lol. The culprits were indeed way too easy to figure out.

I thought the tone of this episode is a lot like The Magic School Bus, but more aware, I enjoy science adventures way too much I can't not love this episode.

LOL, I have no idea how you can place Mystery Solving Gang divided first but an interesting list all the same.

What did you find good about Mystery Solving Gang Divided? I thought the arguing was obnoxious and the guest stars were annoying

It probably boils down to me liking The Funky Phantom (used to be my favorite Scooby clone), while at the same time I always thought both Augie and Skip are unfriendly, which kinda made them a dysfunctional team as opposed to Mystery Inc, and I wanted to see a crossover between them for years. And while I enjoyed the SDMI variation, they got Mudsy's character wrong, whereas here they were all just like how I remembered them. I also tend to like the episodes that highlight Fred, Daphne and Velma more, which is rare for this series. Daphne only got to shine a bit in What a NIght for a Dark Knight IMO, at least Fred and Velma had some more, like this one, they both had great scenes. I know it's also an unpopular opinion, but I don't mind skeptical Velma, it gave an interesting dynamic between her and Mudsy. Also Shaggy and Scooby getting along with Elmo was fun, just like them being creeped out by Boo. Mudsy roleplaying Lincoln was an interesting idea, creating the fake guest star situation, and him concluding the argument was a nice touch, to balance Augie and Skip's obnoxiousness and show that the Funky gang aren't all villains. (April and Elmo weren't either) That's my two cents.

A good argument here and think some of those reasons are why it avoided last place in my list 5/14/2020 02:44:21 pm
Very interesting list and argument for why you liked that episode!
