***This is a spoiler-free review.**
For those who didn't read my comments on the Hex Girls post, I have been lucky enough to see these episodes through a friend in Spain's subscription to HBO Spain. While I would love to share these, there is no way for me to provide a link to these or download them off of HBO. HBO Spain has a block up on downloads or recordings, and you need to pay for a subscription from Spain to view them. I was incredibly lucky that my friend had allowed me access to his HBO account, and I apologize that I am not able to share links with you. I enjoyed this episode! Steve was a really solid guest star and he had a lot of good moments, most prominently where he redeems his love for chipmunks at the end haha. Speaking of the ending, it ends differently than a lot of other episodes have, and I enjoyed that. The Fire Beast was a pretty cool looking villain. But again, Fred, Daphne and Velma had interchangeable lines which I don't really like. They also used a variation on that door gag for the fifth or sixth time in a row now, which is getting old. Having visited Italy last summer, I also noticed quite a lot of unfortunate stereotypes in this episode. I'd say Steve was the best part of this episode and the Fire Beast had a cool design, but nothing special with the gang really. This places 14/19 on the scoreboard, since it wasn't a particularly offensively bad episode, but it was also pretty lackluster in general compared to most others. I'm also including a villain pic at the bottom of the Fire Beast, in case people are interested. Star-Studded Scoreboard: 1. The Sword, The Fox and the Scooby-Doo! 2. One Minute Mysteries! 3. Elementary, My Dear Shaggy! 4. When Urkel-Bots Go Bad! 5. What a Night, for a Dark Knight! 6. Attack of the Weird Al-osaurus! 7. The Cursed Cabinet of Professor Madds Markson! 8. The Nightmare Ghost of Psychic U! 9. Revenge of the Swamp Monster! 10. The Scooby of a Thousand Faces! 11. Now You Sia, Now You Don't! 12. The New York Underground! 13. Hollywood Knights! 14. Fear of the Fire Beast! 15. Quit Clowning! 16. Peebles' Pet Shop of Terrible Terrors! 17. Ollie Ollie In-come Free! 18. The Fastest Food Fiend! 19. A Mystery Solving Gang Divided

Out of curiosity, the official description for the Hex Girls episode mentioned a mind controlling guitar, but you just said strange occurrences surround the guitar. Is it similar to the SDMI episode with the ska zombies, or is it something else?

It does control people's minds, sorry if I wasn't clear. Thorn and Luna are affected by it, and the episode focuses around them becoming super girly and ungothy as a result of the curse. It's really interesting to see them that way, to say the least!

That'll be cool to see. Also, how was today's episode? 3/14/2020 05:04:54 pm
I just saw it, it was really good! Definitely the most horror-based episode of the bunch. It features Jeff Dunham and Darci Lynne Farmer judging a ventriloquist competition where a possessed dummy comes to life. You can view a pic of the dummy & the episode description on the episode guide.

It looks Joker inspired 3/14/2020 07:51:39 pm
It does, doesn't it? Haha. It's got a very generic creepy clown voice, though it does have extending arms to reach out to grab you.

Well that sucks, could have waited to post the review till after others had watched it, especially as I probably won't bother reading it now unless the episode releases elsewhere quickly as this post will most likely end up buried and to hard to find.

I'm not sure how to handle that. Others are saying I should post it now, so I'm not really sure how to handle it. When episodes come out in the US, I can always make a post linking back to these to remind people that they're out there.

Fair enough, personally I'd like you to wait on posting the reviews, the whole point of them is to provide a discussion platform with others who've watched it, which we can't currently do. 3/14/2020 05:06:14 pm
Agreed, and that's the one major argument against it. I know other people are really excited to hear what the episodes are like, so I can always post it, and then post a link reminding everyone about them later so we can all have a discussion. We'll see what the poll says!

Not sure if unpopular opinion but I really like the door gag variations.

I honestly don't like the door gags, personally. I feel like they've overused them at this point, since they are literally being used every episode now. I'm really glad you can enjoy them though!

I agree that this was a really solid episode. I liked the setting, and I was pleasantly surprised that the bad guy Steve joke didn't become annoying. Also enjoyed the door gag this time around. Although I'm not a fan of the door gag, I've just accepted them; this one was fresh enough, relatively speaking.

Good that you've accepted the door gags, because there's one in every single episode following this for the rest of the season. Lol

This episode was a good episode. It wasn't forgettable but I didn't see anything that made it stand out either expect that cool monster.

I had high hopes for this episode but it was total Snoozeville and felt like the writers have given up on Guess Who. I really like Steve Buscemi but this episode was purely pandering to the guest star with a non-existent mystery, tired jokes, ridiculously obvious clues, nowhere near enough Scooby and Shaggy and the more I recall it the worse it gets. 18/19

I really like ur list and ours is pretty similar. Quick question. Why is the dinosaur one pretty high I found the villian to be easy to guess? But that was just what I thought

Weird-Al, best guest star so far, he just complimented Scooby and Shaggy's humour so well. He didn't really dominate the episode rather just blended into the background. It felt like he was just another member of the gang. I think there were enough red herrings to not 100% know who was the dinosaur anyway, but yeah, Weird Al by far the best guest star. 4/28/2020 12:46:29 pm
I didn't hate this episode as much as you did, I just thought it was middle of the road. Some good news though is that I will say this is probably the worst of the 7 episodes I've seen...the rest are much better IMO.

THANK GOD! I'm sorry but it was just so poor, lame non-existent mystery, too much focus on the guess star, blatantly obvious clue with no real others. I like Buscemi and overall just felt so let down in this episode overall. Felt more like the Steve Buscemi and friends show. 4/28/2020 01:42:50 pm
Yeah, it's understandable. While it's not the gang being overshadowed, Too Many Dummies is a case where one guest star overshadows the other. Darci Lynne is given significantly more attention than Jeff Dunham is. Jeff Dunham just kinda feels like he's "there." Nonetheless it is a great episode though with some really creepy horror elements to it.
