There's been a lot of talk about Scooby physical media recently, due to the news of HBO Max removing all Scooby series on September 1. While it may not be the exciting set many of us were hoping for, we have our first DVD announcement in quite a while! On October 14, 2025, WB will be releasing a quadruple feature DVD titled Scooby-Doo! 4 Film Collection. The two-disc set will include Return to Zombie Island, Sword and the Scoob, Straight Outta Nowhere, and Krypto Too for $15. The set is now available for pre-order at Walmart.

Thanks to Scooby Snacks for letting me know about this news! Here is the back cover for the DVD:

The head of Warner Archive said there'd be more Scooby content coming from them, so hopefully that means we'll also get another Blu-Ray by the time the year is over.

I sure hope so too because we haven't had any new physical media releases of Scooby Doo since July 2024 and yet we finally get just a 4 movie collection on DVD I thought that we would get more Scooby Doo content on physical media like a giant box set of all the Scooby Doo movies and TV shows plus specials in 1 box set from Scooby Doo Where Are You to Velma from Scooby Doo Goes Hollywood to Scooby Doo and the Krypto Too from the Scooby Doo Project to Scooby Doo Where Are You Now or something like that

A huge box set would be really cool! Not sure if they'd ever do something like that though, since it would likely cost hundreds of dollars considering the season sets are $30-40 on their own.

And further more, Warner Archive are also still currently working on restoring the entire H-B library (including "Wacky Races" (which has now been released on Blu-ray on April 29, 2025), "Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines" (which is now on MeTV Toons in the USA), "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop", "Inch High Private Eye", "Clue Club", "Hong Kong Phooey" and "Help!...It's the Hair Bear Bunch"), among many others.

BTW, "The Huckleberry Hound Show: The Complete Original Series" and "Touché Turtle and Dum-Dum: The Complete Series" are also both coming out on Blu-ray from Warner Archive Collection soon.

While I have no interest in this collection, I am glad that they are releasing DVDs, maybe we can get some of the shows that weren’t fully released at some point

I'm glad to finally get another DVD as well. I don't hold out high hope for us getting unreleased episodes for obvious reasons, but it would be amazing if it could happen.

Warner Bros has gotta release more Scooby Doo content on physical media or else we are gonna lose interest in new Scooby Doo physical media releases if they keep releasing the same movies and episodes over and over again so come on Warner Bros give us new physical media releases of Scooby Doo content such as leftover episodes of most TV shows on DVD and leftover films on Blu Ray

So glad to see WB are releasing some physical media for us, I would like to see Blu Ray releases though (I assume DVDs are a cost saving measure or more popular?).

In the UK I actually find it quite difficult to find any Blu Ray copies of Scooby for the movies that received Blu Ray releases which has always puzzled me, I seem to be able to import and play US copies but why can't buy Blu Ray versions here. WB always boggles my mind.

Hopefully Warner Archive will stay true to their promise and release more Scooby Blu-Rays in the future!

That's odd that Scooby Blu-Rays aren't as available in the UK. I wonder why that is.

Finally, a new DVD! Although three of these films have already been released on the Best of Warner Bros: 10 Scooby-Doo Movies Collection, it's great that Warner is finally releasing new DVDs! Let's hope this is the first of a new wave of releases. I'd love to see Warner Bros release a DVD with the first five films in the franchise, since Goes Hollywood, Boo Brothers, and Arabian Nights hardly appear on compilations. Otherwise, a DVD of Hanna-Barbera Superstars 10 would be nice too. Warner Bros has already released it on Blu-ray, but the DVD version is still pending.

We also know that new Looney Tunes DVDs, the Collector's Vault, will be released soon. It seems that Warner Bros. prefers to focus on physical media rather than digital platforms for its animated series.

At least Scooby-Doo is still available for free on Tubi for those who don't have access to DVDs. I read yesterday that Tubi is preparing to add several Looney Tunes series to its catalog. Unlike Max, Tubi seems to be adding new series rather than removing them. So, Scooby-Doo should remain accessible and avoid another purge.

Speaking of DVDs, I received the Jetsons and WWE movie disc yesterday. I decided to watch it during the school year, but I'm excited to finally get to see this movie.

While I would have preferred it to be available on a compilation, buying it on its own allows you to access special features. I'm not sure, but I think the DVD includes some Jetsons shorts made for the movie. There are some on the Flintstones and WWE DVDs, too, but I have the movie on a compilation. I find special features to be an extremely interesting part of a DVD. This morning I was able to watch a documentary about the MGM orchestra on a Tom and Jerry DVD (apparently several of the musics from the show inspired MGM live-action musics. I guess an orchestra was unfortunately too expensive for Hanna-Barbera studios.) There are also commentaries from animation experts on some episodes and documentaries about the studio work to make all these cartoons. I don't know if there are such special features on the Scooby-Doo DVDs. Of the 15 DVDs of the franchise I have at home, only Scooby-Doo Where Are You contains bonus features, including a documentary about Hanna-Barbera Studios. There are also none on my Hanna-Barbera Diamond Collection DVDs. I think there were some on the Flintstones Complete Series DVD, but the bonus features were removed from the reissue.

I also borrowed the first WWE Scooby-Doo movie from the library. I just started watching it and I think it's pretty good. It's better than Curse of the Speed Demon, but maybe not as good as Stone-Age Smackdown. I can't wait to finish it! That way, I won't have to buy the Scooby-Doo/WWE double feature first.

Thank you for always taking the time to read my comments! I really appreciate all the work you do running this blog and responding to comments. I also love discussing Scooby-Doo and other Hanna-Barbera series with you, and it's always a pleasure for me to write these comments and respond to you :)

I hope this means we're getting more DTVs too! I would have preferred for WB to approach these compilations as chronological rather than just random movies, but regardless I'm still happy that we're getting another DVD release after so long. Getting a Superstars 10 DVD release would also be great. Personally, I won't be getting any of them since I already own all the movies individually, but it's great to have these releases for new fans and/or those who want a cheaper way to own these films.

That's so great to hear about Looney Tunes! I hope this means that WB is going to be more open to releasing new DVDs again in the future.

I've been glad to see that Tubi has retained some of the series too. Thanks for the link!

Glad you got the Jetsons: Robo-WrestleMania DVD! I'd be curious to know if there are any Jetsons shorts on that DVD. I just rented it digitally, so I don't own the DVD. Since I've seen every piece of Jetsons media, I'll have to look for those shorts online if they exist as I'd like to see them!

I've always liked special features too! A lot of the early Scooby DVDs had quite a few special features, but starting with Big Top Scooby-Doo in 2012, they started including bonus episodes instead. Sadly, they mostly stopped making special features when they started including bonus episodes. For whatever reason, I believe they were often removed for the re-issues on the Diamond Collection DVDs as well. Not really sure why they removed them from this, but maybe it was an issue of not having enough space on the new discs?

Glad you're enjoying WrestleMania Mystery! Agreed that it's better than Curse of the Speed Demon. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts once you finish it.

Of course! Glad you have enjoyed the blog so much. :)

another thing why are they so desperately trying to sell RTZI??? 90% of the fans don't like it so like why not include something else people love like Zombie Island or Camp Scare?

I'm completely on the same page as you. Honestly, I'd be okay with even a compilation set that had just one or two new episodes. I really miss the days of the 2010s sets, where they did frequently throw in an unreleased episode and it was always fun to see which one(s) it would be. I'm sure this didn't cost too much for WB to make, since it's putting already released movies together on one compilations, but I hope they'll be open to releasing more season or compilation sets at some point.

Regarding Return to Zombie Island, I have no idea. I think it would have made more sense to include Trick or Treat instead, since that would have been all of the 2021-2023 movies.

i wish this set would at least have Wednesday Is Missing as a bonus feature just to give people a reason to get this set

That would be cool. I'd honestly love it even more if "Wednesday Is Missing" got its own standalone set! They could treat it like a movie and tack on a few bonus episodes (perhaps even unreleased ones). I'm a little unclear on if they just negotiated for the streaming rights or if they have the physical media rights too, but I would imagine they would have both. I hope something like that is released in the future!

Cool to see they haven't forgotten that some of the recent films exist. Especially Krypto Too which felt released almost out of obligation. Had it not leaked, perhaps it might not have seen the light the day. Unfortunate that Return to Zombie Island is on the set though lol. Happy Halloween would've felt more appropriate.

I also could have easily seen WB sweeping Krypto Too under the rug if not for the leak. Yeah, Happy Halloween or Trick or Treat would have definitely been a better fit.

Although this is not a great set for me (I hate rtzi and the courage movie and I find the other two just okay) I’m glad they’re doing something this year in terms of physical media!

I won't be getting this one either (I already own them individually, and also share in all of your opinions other than disliking Straight Outta Nowhere), but I'm also really glad to see they're still open to releasing physical media! Really hopeful that this means they'll announce other sets in the coming months.

I've been really wanting them to do this too! I think it will be hard during this time, since WB is cutting back so much on what they release, but I hope once they're more financially stable, that they make putting out the unreleased episodes a priority again.
