After the DVD and Blu-Ray release date for SCOOB! was announced to be July 21, then it was cancelled and pushed back to December 30, now it appears to have been pushed forward to July 21 again. This time, Target, Best Buy, and Amazon all list July 21 as the release date for the Blu-Ray and DVD date, with a pre-order button on all three pages, which leads me to believe that July 21 is indeed the correct date. No information regarding any special features has been released, though Amazon lists the run time as 135 minutes (which is 40 minutes longer than the movie actually is), so I imagine there will be some. The DVD will be available for $17.99, and the Blu-Ray available for $19.99.
Update: It is now also listed on Walmart.com and Target lists the special features as "How to Draw Scooby-Doo" for the DVD version, and for the Blu-Ray version, special features include how to draw Scooby-Doo, New Friends, Newer Villains, Puppies!!, Deleted Scenes, and Bloopers

I really think this info should be taken with a grain of salt. let's not forget that a dvd release for Scooby-doo and Guess who was set for may this year by amazon however that date was later canceled and the series has still not been released on dvd up untill today.when WB officaly announces the official release date for Scoob on dvd and bluray then I will believe it.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to say that this was 100% undeniably going to be the release date. I'm definitely more optimistic now, since it's no longer just Wal-Mart listing it, but 3 other retailers so they must be getting the date from somewhere. But I think it's all definitely still up in the air since no announcement has been made. As far as I know, the Guess Who date was for France, not the US, and it's still being released July 10.

Yet still no official release in the UK, beyond a joke.

Totally not fussed, sadly watched it illegally when first came out. Reason I think it hasn't drop here is this big argument between cinema chains who say they'll refuse to show films from companies who drop films on demand at same time. Never know we may be lucky and at least get to go to cinema and watch it at some point. 6/18/2020 10:37:01 am
It's a shame that the argument has to keep the UK from seeing the film though! I guess there is always the illegal route like you said, but it's sad that you guys are forced to go that route if you want to see the movie. Hopefully theaters will reopen soon so people can go and see them!

according to deadline.com SCOOB! made 35-40% less than Trolls 2 on VOD. it's on it's way to HBO Max next week.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see on the numbers. The author said "Unlike Universal’s near $100M grossing (probably more now) domestic PVOD release of Trolls World Tour, no numbers were leaked out about how Scoob! did, but I heard whispers it made about 35% to 40% less than Trolls World Tour." so it sounds like it may be just a rumor since they haven't released any numbers.

I think the DVD/Blu-Ray descriptions and the actual movie are written by different people, hence why they say "the first ever Halloween movie" incorrectly in the new trailer for Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo, when we got Goblin King in 2008.

Excited for the release! I haven't had a chance to watch the movie yet, so I decided to just wait for it to come out on Blu-Ray/DVD. Very excited about it now, and hope I enjoy the movie.

Same! It's really exciting. I'm sure I will. It's not often I don't like a Scooby-Doo movie. Leave a Reply. |
