Even though Scoob! Holiday Haunt was cancelled due to WB's new CEO David Zaslav's philosophy about streaming films, it appears the finished film did not go unseen by anyone. Iain Armitage, who voiced Shaggy in the film, took to Instagram to say that the film was still screened to the cast and crew, even though the general public did not get to see it. Here's what Iain said about the film:
I got to see a screening of the almost-finished Scoob: Holiday Haunt. I had the honor of playing Shaggy in this, and it has sadly been shelved for complicated reasons having nothing to do with the integrity of the movie. I’m so glad I got to see it and hope one day there is a Christmas miracle and you can see it too! In theatre, the audience is always the final, crucial ingredient, and i think it’s true in film as well. This movie wasn’t created so it can sit on a shelf, it was made to be enjoyed! Whatever happens, I’m so glad I got to meet so many great people who were involved with this wonderful project- and I’m thrilled they let me see what they’ve done so far! Even though the general public will probably never get to see it, I'm very happy the cast and crew were still able to enjoy the film!

Don’t you mean “SCOOB: Holiday Haunt” and not “Scooby-Doo! Holiday Haunt?

Better than Batgirl which may have just been up and had the files scrubbed to prevent it leaking.... (that's what I've heard suggested, I just can't believe people would be THAT short sighted without someone trying to save it or it existing somewhere else, like they screen ed it for people, not all of those were streamed I bet...)

I didn't realize they scrubbed the files for Batgirl. That seems very extreme.

That's just speculation. 8/24/2022 12:16:21 pm
Ah gotcha, I misunderstood John Locke's comment. That seems like a very extreme measure and I can't imagine that would happen.

Yea that's what most took it as, but considering any good company does backups I'm sure they're somewhere until said otherwise. 8/24/2022 05:09:57 pm
Yeah, I think you're right. I believe companies deleting files is an outdated practice that hasn't been done since the 70s/80s, so I can't imagine they deleted all of the files for Batgirl.

even if they tried to there's always something over looked, as I said it was screened for people so there is possibility of files out there at least 8/24/2022 10:09:47 pm
Good point, or it's possible a cast or crew member recorded it on their phone camera.

I agree with Iain 100%. I hope one day we get some good news about the film.

It would be cool if we got to see the film someday!

I am happy that they got to have a screening of it, although with only six weeks left of some lighting work and sound effects done I just don’t understand why they don’t bother to shop thid off to another stresming service like they are doing with a bunch of their other HBO Max projects.

I don't get it either! It seems like such a waste to just keep this shelved forever when it was so close to being done. I can't imagine it would cost that much to give this to another streaming service.

The best part about SCOOB was when the kids were little, and we finally got a whole film about them, so it's really disappointing to see it get unfinished, but at least if anything the cast and crew got some closure to it, while the rest of us will just have to use our own imaginations.

I hope this leaks as soon as we know there's no chance of salvation (when holidays end)

I guess it's possible this could be released for the holidays in future years, but yeah, I agree with you the possibility will be greatly diminished if nothing happens by the holidays (and I think the possibility we'll get it in general at this point is extremely unlikely).

Yeah, it seems both this and "Batgirl" had so-called funeral screenings in the past week. "Scoob" is mentioned in the last paragraph.

That's really interesting to know they both got private screenings! I'm glad the cast and crew got to see the result of their hard work :)

I’m glad they did this for the cast, no matter if we ever get to see it or not. It must truly hurt, but they deserve to see their movie

Agreed! It was very nice of them to do this to celebrate the cast and crew's accomplishments!
