Thanks to ScoobyDooUK, we've found a link that possibly shows some of the sets to be released in series 2 of Scooby-Doo Playmobil products. Many of the sets appear to be themed around movies and episodes, including Shaggy's Showdown, Where's My Mummy?, The Legend of Alice May, A Fit Night Out for Bats (kind of, there's a vampire only, and that's the only episode that has a vampire that looks like that who's the sole villain in the episode), Which Witch is Which?, and Shaggy and Scooby eating dinner.
In addition, as you can see in the main picture above, all 12 of the individual villain figures have been released for series 1. A video from NYCC in 2019 mentions that the sets will be out sometime later in January in the US as well, so be on the lookout for these in the US soon! This was not announced by an official source however, just a Playmobil fan blog, so this is not officially happening yet. Enjoy the below images of the potential sets:

In this video from new york comic con, they say the 2 sets (and also includes the figures) will be out in january. So it turns out they arent early at all in the uk, you should have them soon. Havent seen the figures out yet though, but they state they will be in the video.

Yep, I was aware of that, but I could see how my wording in the post could have been a little confusing. I just added that the figures are for series 1.

Thanks! I didn't recognize the skeleton branch at first, but that was because it wasn't alive in the episode as it looks to be in the set. But now that you say it, I do remember it in the background for the episode.

I prefer the Lego designs of the gang much more. Maybe except for Scooby, he looks almost the same as Lego and Playmobil.

These are pretty good designs, though I agree that the LEGO ones are a little better. Shaggy looks off to me in these.

Not a big fan of Playmobil but will say they've done a fair job with these sets. The big difference with these and lego is that with lego there is more scope for adult fans as the sets need to be built and can be put on display, where as here it is purely more for a child oriented target audience.

Agreed, this is pretty much limited to children and hardcore collectors, while the LEGOs could be bought and enjoyed by an adult.

Fun fact; most americans say 'LEGOs' for some reason. The plural is lego. There is no such thing as legos. 1/4/2020 06:08:16 pm
That is super interesting! I never knew that. It appears on Wikitionary, that "LEGOs" is an acceptable usage in the US, similar to the difference in spellings like "color" and "colour." https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Lego Leave a Reply. |
