 Even though it will still be a week-ish before Jada Toys' Wave 1 figures are released, they're already teasing one of the figures from the next wave! A tweet from Preternia.com revealed that the Sea Beast will be a part of Wave 2. No other details about the next wave been revealed at this time. Thanks to Juan for finding that tweet! As a side note, given the obscurity of the series, it's really interesting to me how WB seems to have latched onto the Sea Beast from "Scoo-Be or Not Scoo-Be?" as a classic Scooby villain (between this and a number of other things it's been featured in like the LEGO sets). Not complaining at all though; it's awesome that a villain from one of the rarer episodes to be in the spotlight! Update: It was just announced at SDCC that Space Kook and sitting Scooby will also be featured in Wave 2, and Daphne will be featured in Wave 3! Check out the designs below from a tweet from Preternia.com. Each wave was announced to be a gang member and two monsters.

Getting figures for more recent series would be so cool! I would love it if they released a New Scooby-Doo Mysteries DVD set too! Although I'm sure they're hesitant about releasing anything related to Scrappy, I feel like the 1983 and 1984 series have enough fans interested in them that they could be profitable for WB to release.

Thanks so much for sharing this! Unfortunately, I can't post about it. When I posted about some leaked Holiday Haunt stuff in January, I ended up having to take it down because the uploader (who was a crew member) risked getting in trouble with WB and losing their job. I know something else about this Holiday Haunt clip that I can't really share, but I'll just say to avoid putting crew members in a situation like that again, I can't post about this. We still gotta see more physical media releases of Scooby Doo content that haven't seen the light of day in years from tons of unreleased episodes on DVD/Blu Ray to movies that haven't gotten the Blu Ray treatment just yet someday somehow in the future because Scooby Doo's onscreen history must be preserved on disc and whatsoever but if this doesn't happen then Warner Bros is gonna regret not releasing new Scooby Doo content on physical media since HBO Max is more adult heavy nowadays

Well, contrary to what I recently thought, it seems Jada has already had time to assess the commercial success of the Wave 1 figures! I'm surprised to see that the Where Are You monsters aren't on the spotlight this time. On the other hand, it's possible that there will be more Wave 2 characters than Wave 1, which was a commercial test. I'm really looking forward to seeing which member of the gang will be in the next wave. Personally, I'd bet on Velma, but it's possible it'll be Scooby-Doo. 7/24/2025 07:27:25 pm
There was one thing though you were spot-on about guessing: you totally called it on the Space Kook being the next villain! They just made the announcement at San Diego Comic Con tonight, and I updated the post with the design. It was also confirmed the next member to get a figure will be Daphne.

I actually am not surprised that they have latched onto the Sea Demon as a classic villain. He fills the role of one of the Universal Monsters that doesn't otherwise really have an iconic villain in the Creature from the Black Lagoon. I guess you could go for the Creepy Heap or Beast of Bottomless Lake, but those episodes aren't really seen as iconic either by the general public (though Creepy Heap has a pretty big fanbase within the fandom, it is still one of the most obscure episodes of the classic era) and the Sea Demon in Scoo-Be or Not Scoo-Be is a much more traditional Creature from the Black Lagoon-type monster 7/24/2025 07:08:46 pm
Good point, although honestly I would have expected the Beast of Bottomless Lake over a villain from an 11-minute Scrappy episode. You're right that the design is much more traditional though, so that's probably the reason.

as the other fellow said, the sea beast is here because they're a dead ringer for the gill-man. personally, i would have preferred one of the shark monsters - on this front, it'd be the demon shark, possibly with an opening briefcase containing the jewellery they were after in the episode - but i'm just one person. 7/25/2025 02:11:16 pm

i'm of the opinion that if this line gets far enough, scrappy will get a figure. sure, he's been the subject of mockery for a long time (too long, if you ask me - he needs a proper reintroduction episode that captures him as he was in the latter half of the 1980s, but with the current slump in scooby stuff i doubt it will come), but i do feel like because he is the most prominent sixth member, he's likely in consideration after the core team are out the door. 7/27/2025 04:07:48 pm
Given he got a Funko Pop, you're probably right. I would also love to see Scrappy make a reappearance as his later-1980s self! Given 20+ years of constant "Scrappy sucks" jokes, I also doubt it's going to happen anytime soon. If it's going to happen, I think it would be once we're getting a consistent stream of Scooby stuff again. I don't think they'd take that risk at a time where there's hardly any content.

I'm not sure on the answers to any of those questions yet! The future waves were just announced at SDCC, and wave 1 was announced at SDCC last year, so I imagine it'll be a while before we know any of that info.
