I just looked at the Amazons for the UK, France and Italy, and none of them list it. Usually the DTVs are released a few weeks after they are in the US and Canada in other countries, so I think October 6 is just US and Canada.

It's neat this movie takes place in Crystal Cove. I wonder if we'll get Mystery Incorporated references.

I thought it was cool too that they retconned Crystal Cove. I hope we get references!

Is this the first time they referred to their hometown as Crystal Cove outside of the "Mystery Incorporated" (which has a separate continuity) series? 7/10/2020 11:20:35 am
Nope, they have a Crystal Cove license plate in Scooby-Doo! FrankenCreepy!

The bonus episodes I'm hoping for are a scooby-doo Halloween, the headless horseman of Halloween, and Halloween

I don't know why I didn't think of Halloween! "Halloween" and "A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle" are my new picks that I'm hoping for.

Crystal Cove is an interesting choice. I love the last halloween movie {goblin king} so my expectations are high.

Just watched the trailer for this, and thought it looked really good! I liked last years DTVs enough I guess, but was definitely disappointed with them, considering their set-ups as sequels. They were cute, but they set themselves up for failure by connecting them to previously established stories - especially Zombie Island, which is in my opinion, one of the best Scooby movies ever. But this looks like a fun Halloween romp! I loved Goblin King, so my expectations for another great Halloween story are high. I love that it's set in Crystal Cove as well. Mystery Incorporated is probably my favorite series It'll be interesting to see where it fits into the timeline, and it makes me wanna hope that they might dip their toe back into a darker tone/more real monsters - which I think the cartoon really shines in. But I'm not gonna hope too much, as I think WB is too scared to venture down that route too often, but we'll see.

Agreed 100% on last year's films. They would have been good stand-alone movies but by setting them up as sequels with so many inconsistencies, they were a bit doomed to fail in the eyes of many Scooby fans. So glad to see someone else who likes Goblin King too! That's one of the my favorite Scooby movies and it gets a lot of hate for being "too magical" and not sticking enough to the formula. Mystery Incorporated is one of my favorite shows as well, but I don't think they'll do too much with it unfortunately...

Yeah, exactly. And same! I guess I understands purists who "only like the original premise" but I'm personally a huge fan of magic and the supernatural, and I love when Scooby brings those elements in. Plus, it's great to have a more Scooby/Shaggy focused story, and the twist was great. Probably not, but I hope there are a couple references to the series at least. 7/15/2020 06:03:44 pm
I definitely understand why people wouldn't like it, but I personally think it's a great departure from the norm and made for a great movie to get in the Halloween spirit! I still try to watch it every year at Halloween. I didn't mind the few years of DTVs we got Shaggy and Scooby focused stories either. Leave a Reply. |
