Today on Instagram, Tracy Mark Lee shared a few pictures of original character designs from various episodes of Guess Who. His post included character model sheets for Cher and the gang, from "Cher, Scooby and the Sargasso Sea." However, most notably, he also shared an early image from "The High School Wolfman's Musical Lament," which was slated to feature a cameo from Crunch (from the Hunch Bunch) in Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf. However, Crunch was removed before the episode aired, and he was replaced with a generic hunchbacked man. You can check out the rough design for Crunch above, and also see the other designs on his Instagram page. Thanks to Jinkies for sharing this info!

First the Reluctant Werewolf mention in RTZI and now this. We're getting some sort of sequel sooner or later, aren't we? Don't know if I should be happy about the idea though.

At this point, I think I don't want any sequels to past Scooby media for a while lol. With Guess Who and the 2019 sequels, I would rather they keep exploring new things and get the franchise back to a good place before they revisit the idea of making sequels.

Hard to say since we never saw Mystery Pups to see the quality, but yeah, new ideas that explore different aspects of the franchise, such as Mystery Pup, is what I meant. 6/13/2024 05:03:31 pm
@WildwindVampire do you think that it could've been picked up by Amazon for their Prime Video streaming service? 6/13/2024 07:34:22 pm
I think it certainly could have been a possibility, since the Batman series was put on there. It's a shame it didn't happen though. 6/14/2024 08:34:01 am
I don't believe they can release that one anywhere, since it was a tax writeoff and the film was completed. Mystery Pups is a bit different as it was just in the production stages. 6/15/2024 03:21:45 am
@WildwindVampire but i don't get it. if it (Holiday Haunt) was completed, then why would it be a tax write-off?

I wouldn’t be happy until I saw steady improvement from the franchise where I can trust them to make sequels. I think we’ve seen what has happened with the franchise in its current state making sequels. Could you imagine Reluctant Werewolf getting the Curse of the 13th Ghost treatment? With Fred, Daphne, and Velma being pushed in and Scrappy being ignored and I don’t even know about Googie. No thank you

I genuinely have no idea what they'd do to Googie, but what I'm sure of is it wouldn't be good.

No more sequels please. Haven't we suffered enough after Curse of the 13th Ghost and Return to Zombie Island? LMAO 6/14/2024 08:32:37 am
I'm in the same boat as Matt. I could only imagine they'd explain the Reluctant Werewolf adventure as being some bad Chinese takeout that Shaggy ate or something lol.

Or that it was Googie all along who deluded Shaggy and Scooby into thinking they were being challenged by monsters into racing for Shaggy's chance to turn back into a human by poisoning their food (Scrappy was also made up by the hallucinations)! 6/14/2024 11:15:22 am
That would explain quite a lot. That must be why we never see Googie again and the film ends on a cliffhanger. Hanna-Barbera had to edit the actual ending out because it was far too dark lol.

I heard one rumor, and I didn’t believe it to be true at first, but now I am considering that it may have been the truth after all. But I heard the film was supposed to end with Googie staring in the window rather than Dracula with Every Breath You Take playing in the background, but they couldn’t get the rights to the song cleared

I actually have one! https://www.instagram.com/scoobysnaxdotcom/ I haven't posted anything on there since 2021 though, as I've been much less into social media in recent years. I still use it sometimes to message one of my friends in the fandom, but I don't really post or comment on anything there.

It's weird just how much small cameos like this would have made this show feel so much more like an actual 50th anniversary. In a few episodes they had minor characters that reuse designs from the original series but stopped that early on.

Agreed, and I think having a bigger diversity of shows they were pulling the references from would have helped as well. I think there were a couple references to other shows, but the majority were from Where Are You, The New Scooby-Doo Movies and The Scooby-Doo Show.

One episode had Shaggy off handily mention Flimflam and the 13 ghosts. It was weird because it was the only reference to that show 6/14/2024 06:34:54 pm
Oh yeah, I remember that, from "Scooby on Ice!" I think that may have been the only reference to a show other than the first three unless I'm misremembering.

Scrappy was mentioned in The High School Wolfman's Musical Lament 6/15/2024 10:56:08 am
Good one, that also reminded me of Shaggy finding a red shirt (from 13 Ghosts) in his closet in the Tim Gunn episode and saying "how'd that get in here?"

a photo in this ebay post shows that the creature in dragon’s secret was a mogwai from gremlins and not just something that looked like it so scooby officially crossed over with gremlins it also has some interesting notes on hot dog wayers design https://www.ebay.com/itm/196443698457
