Fun Fact of the Week #370

Picture
When Shaggy turns back into a human in Scooby-Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf, somehow he splits into two different people (notice the two heads and two right arms) when Googie is giving him a hug. Perhaps this validates the theories that Shaggy is all powerful? haha

I actually just noticed it for the first time when I watched it a few weeks ago haha.

I've noticed that too, but it never bothered me much, I just thought it was a little funny.

It is indeed quite amusing. I could understand them maybe accidentally drawing an extra line or something, but to give him a whole other head (and arm?) It's odd no one at HB noticed that before it was released.

Thank you for making a post about this. The weirdest mistake they ever made.

Haha yeah, this is absolutely one of the strangest animation errors I've ever seen from any show lol.

The UK have already stopped airing new episodes.

Already? How many do they still have left?

9. It's so ridiculous they couldn't do another two weeks. No wonder Tom and Jerry Show went so long.

That's so ridiculous! How many of the new episodes got to air before they pulled the plug? (I'm not sure if the UK just had 11 left to air like the US did, or if it was the full 13-episode second half).

Ever since Be Cool began, I was keeping track of all the UK dates, except for last week and unfortunately Virgin screwed up and listed the previous day.

So, I had to try and work it out with some help from someone else, but they did 5, four last week, and this Monday. I missed Tuesday but that same person posted me a screenshot from Sky's guide, which showed a repeat of Sandy Duncan episode had aired.

Last week was Morgan Freeman, Jason Sudeikis, Lucy Liu, Sean Astin. And this Monday was Cher. In total it was really 4 new episodes since they had already aired the Sudeikis early last year.

I have no idea why they delayed Freeman for so long.

Wow, a whole 4 new episodes lol. Very strange they delayed Morgan Freeman for so long, though I remember a few other countries doing that too (Turkey is the one I remember for sure). I hope you get the remaining 9 soon!

The uk schedule shows no further new episodes, which are planned to be aired in the uk for Guees Who at least not for this month. The schedule which Boomerang CEE shows for Scooby-Doo content is becomimg a real mess, for example they keep chainging the air times for Guess Who next month they are going air that show at 18:00 during weekdays.

CN CEE is a little better then Boomerang since they recently aired The Sword and the Scoob here in europe and will also air Happy Halloween at the end of october. ironically enough Boomerang CEE will air all of Tom and Jerry in New York next month here despite the series having only 7 episodes (28 segments) in all.

That sounds like how they aired the last 11 episodes of Be Cool here. They aired every episode in the middle of the night, and at different times on top of that. It was like they were trying to sabotage the show.

I suspect sadly thar Boomerang is trying to sabotage Guess Who, and even trying to get the show cancelled by airing the show at such late peroids in the weekdays. it's a shame how bad Boomerang has become still not all cable tv is bad I think it all depends on who runs the channels that's all. For example I find it curios that Nicktoons CEE has managed to air much more episodes of the New Smurfs series then it has in the us so far (at least in France and poland that is). Sorry to go off-topic here but I must say that I find the european dub's for the new Smurfs series to be much better then the us version, Gargamel's and Papa smurf's voice sound pretty good in the europen version's but not in the us version which is a great shame and disappointment in this case.

Guess Who was only planned to be 52 episodes, so Boomerang would have no control over getting it cancelled. There weren't any plans for more episodes than that to begin with.

This is a super random comment and not at all about the post…but I remember reading before on here a lot of comments about how the current Scooby-Doo Where Are You DC Comics series uses nothing but stock artwork. Well I feel like this has went pretty under the radar but has anyone checked out the latest issue #111? It seems they must have overhauled the entire series because the new issue has not once ounce of stock art and instead all original artwork just like back in the day. This was the first comic I’ve actually enjoyed in quite awhile and if they keep going in this direction, that’s extremely exciting! I’m gonna check out #112 next week when it releases to see if they continue the new trend. Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed that too:)

I hadn't picked up #111 yet, but omg that's super exciting!!! I can't believe they finally are back to doing original artwork! Thank you so much for letting us know, I'm definitely going to be checking out #112 next week in hopes that they've gone back to using original art!

I heard that theirs going to be a hollywood strike on monday where 60'000 people who work in film and tv go on strike because they are tired of be treated like dirt if it happens it could lead to films or show getting cancelled, being delayed or having production halted I don't know if this also applies to animation aswell but I'm worried it is going to affect the scooby doo stuff I don't wan't the reunion special to get cancelled or delayed or production on the dtv movies to get halted I really hope all of this gets sorted out and the workers get treated better and all that.

The reunion special would've been likely completed by now since it's airing by the end of the month.

It could affect Velma and the DTVs, tho.

Personally, I couldn't care because I would love everything to be slowed down so I can catch up on stuff. LOL.

It was the same with COVID and "the industry" was affected, but it wasn't affecting animation as much, but the thing is, not everybody likes animation, so you could make tons of cartoons for a place like Netflix, but not everyone who subscribes to Netflix watches cartoon, so in the end, did it really make much difference if animation was easier to make?

Looking back at the comment I made yeah I doubt they would cancel the reunion special considering that it probably finished production because it is coming out in a week or two and the dtv movies haven't really stopped even during a pandemic and heck their was a writer's strike in 2007 and dtv movies were still released I also checked news articles about the strike on Monday and it was saying production crews as in makeup artist and special effects team not really animators so I don't even think it will affect animation at all.

I never thought about the 2007 Writer's Strike affecting animation before. I don't think it did because animation writers are contracted differently to live-action writers.

That's good it's just makeup artists and special effects teams.

James, I know the 2007 Writer's Strike affected The Simpsons. There were typically 22 episodes per season, and there were only 20 that year because the strike affected the production cycle and they had less writers, apparently.

Interesting, but they would have completed the special by now since it's only two weeks before. I doubt the strike will affect anything.
