Happy Friday! With us as today’s fan spotlight is Graham, a Scooby-Doo fan from the UK who was a former police officer! He’s an active reader of this blog and the ScoobyAddicts forum, and loves watching Scooby-Doo with his family. Both he and his children love Scooby so much that they all continued to be fans into adulthood!
1. What is your name? Graham (Wish I'd put a little more thought into that now!) 2. How did you get into Scooby-Doo? I watched Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! first time around as a child. Been a fan ever since! 3. What is your favorite Scooby-Doo episode and film? Why? Fav episode I would say Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! Doo Not Disturb. It has great atmosphere, and one of the creepiest ghosts ever! Fav film, Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island. Scooby-Doo's big comeback, and it didn't disappoint! Great location, creepy looking zombies - and they were real! 4. What ways are you involved in the Scooby fandom online? Well, obviously I read the ScoobySnax blog :) I also browse the ScoobyAddicts Board - especially if I've just watched a movie or episode that I haven't seen before. I like to see the members' opinions and observations. 5. In your opinion, what is the best series or era of Scooby? For me the best series/era is Scooby Doo, Where Are You!, but Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! comes close! 6. What one Scooby-Doo series or film would you want a sequel to someday? Wow, that's a good one. I'm going to say... Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire. Not necessarily a follow-up to the same storyline, but I'd love them to do another musical. I really liked that one. 7. What direction would you like to see the franchise go in the future? I'd like to see the DtV movies come back to having the supernatural be unambiguously real sometimes. 8. Who is your favorite member of the gang and why? As a kid I always had a bit of a thing for Velma Dinkley, so I'm going to say her. 9. What is your favorite villain? Why? Tough, but I'll go with 'Mother' from Scooby-Doo! Doo Not Disturb. Really creepy. 10. In your opinion, who is the best recurring (non-gang) character in the franchise? The Hex Girls, easily (although that's three - is that cheating?) 11. Do you have a Scooby-Doo collection? If so, what’s in it? I do... Series (DVDs); Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! The New Scooby-Doo Movies The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? Movies (DVDs); Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase Scooby-Doo! and the Loch Ness Monster Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright Scooby-Doo! Frankencreepy Scooby-Doo! Shaggy's Showdown Scooby-Doo: Return to Zombie Island Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob Scoob! 12. What do you think has made the franchise so popular that it’s still going strong after 50 years? Lovable characters, exciting storylines, it appeals to both adults and kids, plenty of humour, the good guys always win, and it shows kids that scary things really aren't as bad as they seem. 13. What is one fun fact about you in real life? I was a police officer (UK), and sometimes I needed reminding there were nice things in the world. Watching Scooby-Doo did just that :) 14. Please feel free to share anything else you’d like to here! I have a son and daughter (both now in their 20s). When they were very young I introduced them to Scooby-Doo. They loved it, and we still watch it together :) A huge thank you to Graham for serving as today’s fan spotlight! Graham was also a big help this past January in providing some suggestions to make the Scooby-Doo Continuity Timeline that SDF and I made even better, so I’d like to give a big thanks to him for that as well! :)

I agree it's really cool! One of my favorite things about these fan spotlights is getting to see how people got into Scooby and what the franchise means to them. :)

I agree, it really shows how far Scooby Doo has come and how it changes people's lives and what it means to them, and will continue to do so into the future. Leave a Reply. |
