"The Shrieking Madness" marks the first time we hear of the Planispheric Disc in Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. When the gang discovers the diagram of a disc piece inside the Darrow Archive Documents, a set of numbers is listed with the disc piece: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42. These coordinates are a reference to a recurring sequence of numbers in the television show Lost.

Paramount-WB Merger Paused Through June 1, 2027

The upcoming WB/Paramount merger was officially approved in June. On Friday, NBC News announced that the merger will not be moving ahead as expected. A dozen U.S. state attorneys have filed an antitrust suits against the merger, citing significant risks associated with the monopoly the merger would create, and arguing that it would harmfully reshape the entertainment industry. Because of the lawsuits, Paramount has announced the merger will be put on pause through June 1, 2027. This means the merger is unlikely to affect WB or any franchises associated with it (including Scooby) until towards the end of next year, if not later.

Simple Plan's What's New Scooby-Doo? theme song and episode appearance has remained iconic even 20+ years later. The band's involvement with the franchise has reached new popularity in recent years on social media. In recent years, Simple Plan fans have come to concerns dressed in Scooby-related costumes, as a way to encourage the band to play the theme song at their concerts. In 2021, Simple Plan released an official studio version of the What's New theme song, due to the surge in popularity. Now, as the band embarks on Warped Tour, they've announced they'll be including some Scooby themed fun as a part of their shows!

Yesterday, during Vans Warped Tour, Simple Plan announced they're going to be bringing exclusive Scooby-Doo x Simple Plan merch to select Warped Tour shows. According to ThatEricAlper.com, fans will also be able to take pictures with Scooby and the Mystery Machine in an exclusive event that will be a part of some of Simple Plan's shows. Throughout the tour, their concerts will include other Scooby-related surprises as well, including bringing Scooby on stage while performing the theme song. You can see footage of last night's event on the band's Instagram.

It's no secret Zombie Island is widely acclaimed as one of the best Scooby-Doo movies. Over the years on here, Zombie Island pretty much been a cheat code to win any poll its a part of. For this week's poll, I wanted to focus on some of the lesser discussed monsters from the beginning! Besides the Moat Monster, there's also several very cool villains in "The Ghost Is Here" montage from the beginning of the film. You can check out the slideshow below to see a gallery of each monster.
Here are the final results for the poll series organizing guest stars by their careers! The Globetrotters win the series with 20 votes. The voice actors, and Batman + Robin come in second and third, respectively.

What is your favorite of these winning Scooby-Doo guest stars?
Harlem Globetrotters - 20
Frank Welker, Grey Griffin, Kate Micucci, and Matthew Lillard - 13
Batman and Robin - 12
Simple Plan - 8
Jonathan Winters - 5
Weird Al Yankovic - 2
Bobby Flay, Giada DeLaurentiis and Marcus Samuelsson - 0

Wave 2 of Jada Toys Scooby-Doo figures are now available for pre-order! The pre-order listings have revealed that the figures will be released in November 2026. Each figure is priced at $29.99. The figures are 1:12 scale, and are approximately six inches in height. The figures will be packaged in premium collector packaging. Each figure will have detachable parts, including an alternate mask/face and hands/paws for each figure, as well as unmasked versions of the culprits and a sandwich for Scooby. I was happy to see that they included alternate head sculpts for both Rosey Cranz and Gilly Stern, rather than making up a culprit like the LEGO sets did (I believe they said the culprit was "Mr. Brown" even though that isn't a real character).

Here are the official descriptions for each figure:

Fun Fact of the Week #616

Welp, it appears that I messed up with yesterday's fun fact lol. The Mystery Machine being at Scorpion Ridge was not, in fact, an animation error. I had missed it from only rewatching the Shaggy, Scooby, Crystal and Amber parts for my fic, but there was a brief comment from Buck right before this scene that he hadn't gotten around to towing it yet. Thanks to Matt for catching that the error was in fact mine, instead of the animator's lol. With that said, here is an actually correct fun fact for this week!

A Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? guest star recently had a harrowing adventure in the location of another Guess Who episode. During a trip to Sicily, Whoopi Goldberg was recently trapped by Mount Etna erupting. Catania Airport made the decision to cancel all flights due to the volcano. Because her plane was unable to take off, she missed an episode of her talk show The View. She spent most of the day stuck in Sicily, but eventually made it safely home.

Whoopi Goldberg guest starred on "The Nightmare Ghost of Psychic U!" Five episodes later, the gang traveled to Sicily and met Steve Buscemi in "Fear of the Fire Beast!" The episode's plot involved the gang having to stop a Fire Beast that came from Mount Etna.

You can read more about the news story on Yahoo. Thanks to Shadowscooby for suggesting this fun fact idea!
