In addition to this (which confirms a fall release date), there will be a 50th anniversary birthday event for Scooby on Saturday, July 20. Here's the information on that: Saturday, July 20 – 12:30-1:30pm Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) salutes that lovable Great Dane, Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang with a panel spotlighting half a century of crime-solving silliness. For 50 years, the Mystery Inc. gang has entertained Scooby-Doo fans with zany hijinks, action-packed adventures, and engaging mysteries that have captivated viewers of all ages. What started as a Saturday morning cartoon exploded into an enormously successful franchise encompassing multiple spin-off series, original animated and live action films, consumer products and much more. Included in the celebration will be several key showrunners, filmmakers, and stars of the franchise, including Grey Griffin (DC Super Hero Girls, The Loud House) and Kate Micucci (Garfunkel & Oates, Unikitty!), the voices of Daphne and Velma, respectively—and a glimpse of the upcoming Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete Series Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Mystery Mansion box set from WBHE (available in stores on September 3, 2019). And speaking of the 50th anniversary, WB has also released the back cover for the 50 Cartoon Collection: Scooby-Doo DVD coming out August 13, 2019. Unfortunately, no episode listing was revealed, though based on the pictures on the back, "Mystery 101" from Be Cool, "A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts" from Where Are You, "Wrestle Maniacs" from What's New and "Art of Darkness" from SDMI will be released on the set. As of his most recent appearance in Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, 16th United States president Abraham Lincoln has appeared in the franchise three times, each time as a ghost. Once in "A Night Louse at the White House" from The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries, another time in an issue of the first Dynomutt comic in 1977 entitled "Close Call," and the third time in Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?.
Abraham Lincoln has appeared more times than any US president in the Scooby franchise. George Washington, Teddy Roosevelt and Ulysses S. Grant all appeared once as ghosts in "A Night Louse at the White House," and Ronald Reagan appeared one time in "It's a Wonderful Scoob" from The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo. According to Zap2it, the episode he will appear in will be titled "A Mystery Solving Gang Divided!" |
