Despite that Be Cool Scooby-Doo has still not aired all of its episodes in any country (not to mention that Season 2 hasn't aired at all in the US), Matthew Lillard, who has voiced Shaggy since 2010 and in the live action movies, announced on his Instagram account that a brand new Scooby-Doo series is now already in production.
We don't know much about this series at the moment, except Kate Micucci will be starring as Velma once again, meaning we can likely presume she has officially replaced Mindy Cohn permanently. Regulars Frank Welker, Grey Griffin and obviously Matthew Lillard will return to the series. Michael Ryan will be writing for the series. Kevin Conroy, who is possibly best known for playing Batman, will also guest star in an episode. That probably leaves many of you with the question, does that mean Be Cool Scooby-Doo will stop airing its remaining episodes in Season 2? The answer is no, the episodes will continue to air on the Boomerang VOD service and app for those who live in the US, and on the Boomerang TV channel for those who live in other countries. You can see Matthew's post plus an exclusive behind-the-scenes moment with Frank Welker here.

Agreed. According to JCB, I guess Kate's contract was just supposed to be for Be Cool and that's it. Mindy should have still done the DTV's. Seems like WB kinda screwed Mindy over.

Michael Ryan is a writer. His Scooby credits include Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, WrestleMania Mystery, Mask of the Blue Falcon, Haunted Holidays, and even Bravo Dooby-Doo.
