SCRAPPY-DOO
Scrappy-Doo is the nephew of Scooby-Doo. He is an energetic, brave puppy who enjoys chasing after monsters and ghosts. In 1980, the series was given an overhaul, and Fred, Velma and Daphne left the cast, and Scrappy, Scooby and Shaggy chased monsters (most of them real) together. In 1983, Daphne was added back to the series. In 1988, Scrappy-Doo was removed from the series and the rest of the gang returned. His catchphrase is "Puppy power!" Beginning in 1987, Scrappy became more toned-down and less energetic.
Voice Actors
Scrappy was voiced by Lennie Weinrib in 1979, but was fired after only one year because he demanded an outrageous salary. Don Messick replaced him from 1980-1988. Currently, Scrappy has not appeared in a Scooby-Doo episode since 1988, except in 2002 in the movie as a villain (more on that later).
In 1999, the creators of the "Scooby-Doo Project" special put in a joke where Scrappy was chasing Daphne through the woods, due to the large number of fans who disliked him. After this, tons of Scrappy jokes were put in the Scooby-Doo cartoons, parodying that most fans didn't like him. Some examples of this are:
1. Scrappy dolls are run over at the fair in Goblin King (a movie)
2. In "An Evening with the Scooby Gang" (a featurette on the "Aloha Scooby-Doo DVD), Fred mentions a sixth member of the gang, and the gang says that they "can't talk about Scrappy."
3. In "The Siren's Song" of the Mystery Incorporated series, there is a statue of Scrappy-Doo in the Haunted Museum, and Fred tells Daphne that she has to turn away.
4. The biggest joke is in the Scooby-Doo first live action movie, where Scrappy is made evil and performs voodoo rituals. In the movie, Scrappy consistently urinates on Daphne and tries to become the leader of the gang, and he is kicked out of the Mystery Machine.
Ironically, despite the complaints about Scrappy, he actually saved the show, he was added due to low ratings and the show would have been cancelled if not for the addition of his character.
Note: In the live action movie, his middle name is "Cornelius," but in the other series, his middle name is "Dappy."

MOMSY DOO & DADA DOO
Scooby's Great Dane parents that appeared in several episodes. In "Wedding Bell Boos," they are shown to have a connection to Shaggy's parents, or potentially live with them. In other episodes, they have their own house. While they retained the same animation for the majority of their appearances (excluding Pup, where they are younger), "The Ghouliest Show on Earth" features different animation. Ironically, in one scene of that episode, due to a sequence of animation being entirely recycled, their designs briefly revert back to how they previously looked for that scene only, before switching back to the new animation.
